Another interesting tidbit I learned: at least according to this GA, SJC would rather IDB than go above $300. She said anything over $300 is teh station manager's call. That doesn't make sense, but it's what she told me.

Have you filled in Copa Connection on the Box Approved™ bump dance?

It sounded to me like she could not process it. If she is wrong, guidance would be appreciated as to where to direct her on the 'puter. :-:

I misread your post. I thought you were saying that she didn't want to process it, but when I re-read it, it made sense.

If it's six over, you have a really good chance.

LOL... that is a lot of miles!!

I just noticed that CO never reverse a charge on a ticket I refunded within 24 hours. This was my first PRG ticket!! OUCH!!

I had 2 B class tix that they didn't refund for six weeks! I had written to them twice and finally had to take it up with the CC company. :td:

Ahhhhhh.

Yeah, I'm hoping. Six over and no one had showed interest before us. The only thing that worries me is the short connection (about an hour) -- will the agent in IAH know when they go to open the flight that they have inbound pax willing to volunteer?

jrzyshawn - you've just engaged the cloaking device - invisible.

Your digs:

That looks a LOT like where I stayed last year. Is it over just off the end of the runway? The place last year was quite nice but I thought it was actually a brand new property, not a remodel.

IME, they don't always follow the list and they go with the people standing in front of them at the time they need to process VDBs. If there are stragglers checking in for the flight, they will normally wait until after the cut off and, if the flight doesn't turn out to be oversold by as many as it was overbooked, they will wait until boarding is (mostly) complete.

I would imagine a 1 hour connection should still give you plenty of time to get to the gate before the GA begins processing VDBs. Good luck!

I do this often enough that it's a good possibility.

But isn't it already? With exit rows being opened at 24 hours now; if I buy a last minute tix or change a flight, I'm in the same situation if it's not already an upgraded tix (meaning F, Y, B or M).

Nice. ^ I'm so used to doing that with certain cities that I sometimes have to think twice about my "audience" when I mention one!

Agreed. For my last few bump opportunities (none of which ended up panning out, alas) I always made sure I was at the gate 1 hour beforehand because apparently that's when the GA usually shows up. In every case I had to sit there, twitching, for quite a while before he/she arrived and was even prepared to start addressing that issue.

Good luck!!!
