G'day box from the brand-new 4 points SJC. Have to say, it's pretty :-:.
There were 4 TSA agents about 10 feet away from him, that means those lazy bums stood around for more than 1.5 hours!! We taxpayers should demand that these bum tactics be gotten rid of ASAP. |

Dear Chelsea Catering,
Hi, my name is belynch. I fancy myself as someone who has a decent sense of humor. I'm the first to get a chuckle at someone else's expense, and I enjoy setting people up for , but I've never taken it as far as you did. I'm not sure if it was a cruel joke or just really poor planning, but this morning's whY breakfast was a bit ridiculous. Total cereal, raisins, banana, and a bran muffin. That's about 23o823408x your daily recommended allowance of fiber. On-top of all that people added CO's "upper-GI grind" coffee and it was an explosive situation. I've never seen such a line to use the banos. If you did this on purpose, I applaud your efforts, but the consequences of this meal plus a four and a half hour flight were a bit too much. It was like watching Borat with your future father-in-law. You wanted to laugh, but you knew it was wrong. Oh. So. Wrong. So please, let's call it a truce and tone down the fiber please. Yours in , belynch |

Copa has decent coach food, the pasta noodle was a little gummy but edible.

allrighty Box, how'd this fly under the RaDAR?
IBD, that's right seems we somehow missed National Beer Day. For those of you on the left coast, there are still almost 2 hours left to show your national pride. Do us proud ^ |

It's the single most beautiful church I've seen. I thought it was more beautiful inside than St. Peter's Basilica.

My second US flight tonight was lots of fun. Aircraft swap from a 734 to a 733, with a gate change, caused us to depart nearly 30 minutes late. Fortunately the plane wasn't very full and I had an empty middle seat next to me. I ordered the pomegranate martini, to which the flight attendant said, "The what? Oh, that martini thing." Then she asked the other flight attendant for the mix, which was back in the galley, and it took almost 10 minutes for the other flight attendant to go back there, find it, and return. In the meantime, the flight attendant serving me said, "What goes in that? Sorry, I'm a Baptist. I don't drink and I don't know these things." OK, fine, so I told her it was the vodka, and three more times she reminded me she was a Baptist while searching through the alcohol drawer in the dark for vodka. It was obvious she didn't know what she was looking for, and must not have paid much attention to what alcohol was served on board during training.
After all that, we hit pretty rough turbulence that lasted for about 60% of the flight. The girl in the aisle seat of my row totally freaked out and was hyperventilating and in a total state of panic for the rest of the fight, until things smoothed out around 9,000 feet as we approached MSY. Finally, while getting off the plane, a military guy of about 20 who swore he knew all about flying, was chewing out the captain in the F galley area for "flying us through unsafe conditions." While the turbulence was rough at times, it was far from the worst I've ever experienced. In fact, it was pretty smooth compared to some of my recent ERJ and Saab flights. This guy was demanding the captain's name so he could "report him to the airline, the FAA, and the President." On the plus side, I ended up in a brand new Buick Enclave for my rental car. It had 4.7 miles on it when I started the engine. |
Sorry for the rough flight.
I'm done filing incident reports for yesterday. Of course it's now 0048 tomorrow ... |

I'm adding 6 ounces of sliced pancetta (at 320 calories) as a side dish to the second beer - feeling fairly happy now.
