Hellllllo from SAN! I've been here for work for the past 3 days. Had a lovely lunch today with some locals: mrpickles, SanDiego1K and a couple others.
Was sorry to miss the Austin megado :( really wanted to go. Looking forward to getting back home tomorrow. AND... I'm doing my $2.12 all in trip to Nassau in a week and a half :) Hope everyone is having a wonderful evening! |

Getting roped into a Choice Hotels promotion again - doing an external review where the tops of the city are a Fairfield Inn or Comfort Inn in three weeks. Going to head to BNA early enough Thursday to pick up another cheap night, visit Costco, hit the range, etc. for the 8,000 points ...

PTY we were not so fortunate, but most of us they just unzipped took a quick peek and zipped back up.

Did not encounter any situations where we had to negotiate during the trip.
Other than the fact that Steph3n had to deal with some questionable navigation skills by his co-pilot. :o As to negotiations, getting directions at some places would have been easier had we known the local language. But then again had we known the way to the locks, we probably would not have found said lunch place or the causeway for Mrs. Brit!!

Even Exchange? As I've got no co-pilot this trip, I believe I'm going to forgo getting a car. I'm thinking poolside layover would be about my speed The museums in the city of Mexico are free to locals and residents. We had thought they were free to all from what we had heard. Still not bad as the museum was 54 pesos and the audio was 75 pesos. We did without the audio, some signs in english but most of the objects were neat to look at!

Chicken on Copa Airlines, pretty tasty.
their pico styled topping comes with almost everything, and it is similar to a pico de gallo but has oil in it as well, giving a different texture. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4066/...5ba9dccdbe.jpg They have a very tired menu after making so many flights in 2 days. Even more tiring IFE considering CO was showing exactly the same things. I think the LeBron documentary was on 5 times for me this weekend.

My second US flight tonight was lots of fun. Aircraft swap from a 734 to a 733, with a gate change, caused us to depart nearly 30 minutes late. Fortunately the plane wasn't very full and I had an empty middle seat next to me. I ordered the pomegranate martini, to which the flight attendant said, "The what? Oh, that martini thing." Then she asked the other flight attendant for the mix, which was back in the galley, and it took almost 10 minutes for the other flight attendant to go back there, find it, and return. In the meantime, the flight attendant serving me said, "What goes in that? Sorry, I'm a Baptist. I don't drink and I don't know these things." OK, fine, so I told her it was the vodka, and three more times she reminded me she was a Baptist while searching through the alcohol drawer in the dark for vodka. It was obvious she didn't know what she was looking for, and must not have paid much attention to what alcohol was served on board during training.
After all that, we hit pretty rough turbulence that lasted for about 60% of the flight. The girl in the aisle seat of my row totally freaked out and was hyperventilating and in a total state of panic for the rest of the fight, until things smoothed out around 9,000 feet as we approached MSY. Finally, while getting off the plane, a military guy of about 20 who swore he knew all about flying, was chewing out the captain in the F galley area for "flying us through unsafe conditions." While the turbulence was rough at times, it was far from the worst I've ever experienced. In fact, it was pretty smooth compared to some of my recent ERJ and Saab flights. This guy was demanding the captain's name so he could "report him to the airline, the FAA, and the President." On the plus side, I ended up in a brand new Buick Enclave for my rental car. It had 4.7 miles on it when I started the engine. After a long second nap today/yesterday I am feeling a little back to normal. Will now head back to bed for a short sleep and wake up at a normal time. |
Was over at CO.Com and noticed that they are doing a Mileathon in April-June 30th of this year!! Very interesting as it is open to everyone again and this my be a preview to DEQMs!! (sorry if previously posted but I didn't review the box from this weekend!!)
Also noticed that they are giving double miles on Portland-ANC and when flying Asian airlines! |

My inflight meals yesterday consisted of Cheese Nips and slighty salted peanuts. The Cheese Nips were a much better pairing with the ginger ale than last week's cinnamon crisps.;) Service was stellar as the FA's made 2 passes through the cabin for drinks in between periods of being told by the captain to remain seated due to turbulence.:-::D
