I have a stand-alone freezer in the basement -- very old model -- thinking of eventually replacing that, too.

I know that bottom-freezers don't appeal to everyone -- but really would work for me. I have an old GE side-by-side that came w/the house (8 yrs ago now -- fridge is probably at least 15 yrs old, or so).

For those who need a partner purchase for the PriorityClub multi-partner promotion and/or office supplies and Office Max Perks selected legal pads, three-ring binders, and manila folders are available for free after rebate. If these are ordered in quantities of 1, 3, and 3, one is also closest to the $50 for free shipping.

My main dig with my grandma's is that the ice maker is in the bottom freezer portion, and it is just not that convenient to bend over and get ice when I am putting ice in glasses for everyone. I do not personally use much ice at all, but if it has an ice maker, do consider that tradeoff.

if the freezer portion were about 6 inches higher it would not be much of an issue either, but it is quite low as it is.

Morning Box - I won't be catching up, so send me a note if there's something where I need to respond.

Got an e-mail on the Office Max promo -- but I don't really do anything w/PriorityClub!

ETA: this is my first BOX posting milestone!

Congrats!

As to the freezer question, I agree. I have a bottom freezer unit in my apartment. Since I use my freezer mainly to frost beer mugs, I like having the 'fridge contents up higher. I am embarrassed to admit I have no experience with side-by-side models. :o

I was gonna say -- you are much taller than I -- so this issue of having to bend down to retrieve things from the freezer section -- can't be too much fun!:rolleyes:

The only thing I've done with PriorityClub are multi-partner promotions and I'm now looking at about 5 nights.

Is it wrong to be posting to the Box during a break out session?

There is a bit of history behind the Come and Take It flag. It has nothing to do with secession or radical right wingers.

The cannon was granted to the colony of San Antonio and was then taken to Gonzales, Texas. The Mexican Army had orders to seize all cannons but the Texans at the fort successfully beat the Mexicans during the battle. After the battle a flag was fashioned with the phrase and used as a sign of defiance. Without Texas fighting for independence, there would probably be no New Mexico, Arizona, or California.

The 'do not want' was a joke about not wanting Texas. :D:p Not really any political commentary or anything.

I have never heard beer bread. What is it and how do you make it? :-:

Put me in the camp that does not grok side by side refrigerators. They always seem small, everything is hard to get to, and woe to the unit that has an ice maker/water dispenser in the door. Those freezer spaces are practically nil. :td:

:p

Beer bread is beer, flour, sugar, and a leavening agent. Most people here make it with cheese as well.
