Certainly understand, CM. We'll be sure to tip a few in your honor!

Thanks. I just checked the post stats. There were 4 and you just made #5.

Yup - rolov and belynch are likely the next 1k members (not to be confused with UA 1K of course).

Between my 1,000 posts here and my 1,000 posts in the AMS thread, I think it's obvious how much time I waste on FT. :o

I just browse about 2% of FT. I check the CO, SPG and MR forums daily, but check the CO forum several times a day. Every once in a while I will look though the other forums, like travel and photography, but it just seems soo overwhelming and I cant even imagine how much time a day I would waste just on FT if I started exploring all the forums on a regular basis.

I jokingly congratulated CO Insider "on making 1K". His response was something along the lines of "Ahh, so that's why the confetti fell from my ceiling." :D ^

The Box is always my first and last stop. The majority of my time is in CO because of that, but I've been known to make a nuisance of myself in B6, WN, UA, US, HH, and once in a great while AA. I still recall dropping in on a US topic and belynch commenting right behind me. My point didn't get the intended effect, which Mr. Lynch artfully pointed out by saying "CM, who let you out of The Box?"

B6 and WN are fun, UA is , and I've heard horror stories about SPG. I check Newsstand a lot too, on my way over to Travel Photo.

I'm switching between FT and a Vince Flynn novel. Back to the novel til my eyes get too heavy. Night, all.

I think we need to have a Box Do at the CO Do in February.

Do I smell a side excursion to the flying saucer?

She's alive. Actually I'm going to her housewarming party in a few weeks. She's just been on a FT hiatus as she hasn't been traveling and just generally busy.

Upon re-reading this, I'm kinda divided on it. I know conventional wisdom is spend heavier on glass, but the technology in the camera might be a differentiator in getting "the shot" - ISO, AF points and frame rate come to mind quickly.

Most of the technology is the same at the pro-sumer professional level models that come out at the same time. There will always be things that are better on the truly pro models, but the pro-sumer options often have the same sensor and DSP, with slightly different AF or FPS systems. The sensor and DSP are the most significant bits in getting the shot, so I'm more comfortable erring on the side of a slightly cheaper body as long as it still has the same digital bits as the higher-end model.

So, for all of the photo geeks in here, what are 2 lenses you'd never leave the house without?

My new f2.8/17-50 and f2.4/70. I also generally have an 11-17 fisheye and f3.6-5.6/18-200 that are my older lenses, but they are seeing much less action these days.

She's around. I had drinks with her a couple weeks ago. I was having the same thoughts.

This past weekend MR
ALCO and I were discussing some FT members we have not seen posting in the CO board recently and her name came up
Of course with all the vodka flowing neither of us could remember her handle
I kept saying " you know the one that has the dog winston "
ALCO named everyone on FT but shellnyc

I would really like to see the improvements that DIGIC IV has over DIGIC III for us Canon folks. I guess it's worth noting the small sense of resentment that I feel toward Canon because the purse camera that I bought my fiancee and later my mother works better in low light than my much more expensive and much heavier dSLR. Meh.

I can't be held liable for posting after about 12:30 am - some people caveat drunk posts, I caveat tired posting. :D

I'm turning green, and it's not my overpowered coffee that's doing it to me.

I have a Canon AE-1 with a 50mm lens and a telephoto one (not sure the dimensions).

It takes pretty amazing pictures: http://flickr.com/photos/ssegraves/2...7607673414371/

The crispness is what makes me happy.
