That is relaxed I think... Ohno yawning before his semi-final heat.

Greetings from warm PSP. It was near 80 here today, and it was a great day to be outside. We just finished wine tasting in the downtown area and came back to decide what to do for dinner.

I was actually saying either Perry's or our place. Olivia's doesn't really look all that amazing, but I am completely biased toward Perry's simply because I know how adept they are at repeatedly stunning me with the meal. Also, the wine list isn't published online for Perry's because they rotate selections pretty regularly. While I am nowhere near as accomplished at selecting a wine as you are, my quick perusal of their six page list did offer several options that looked good.

And there's always Specs and the grill here. ;)

Also, do you remember the name of the wine you selected at La Griglia? We've been looking for it but have yet to locate it.

ohhhh!! Oliva's chef is serving my cheese at the James Beard house!

Pig Panini with Pickled Pigs’ Ears, Carrots, Onions, and Veldhuizen Texas Gold Cheddar

I dunno about those pig's ears, but the cheese is gooood!

I can understand delaying the Olympic TV coverage during the week but not on the weekend. I have to wait until 8pm local time to see him skate, delayed.

Your town, your choice. But I had been going over to the thinking that Olivias was a better alternative for two reasons. The first is that they have lots of fish and seafood. I would be looking to avoid beef on Thursday since we are going to have so much red meat in the form of BBQ the next three days. The other is that if you order one bottle off their wine list, they will open one that you bring with you with no corkage and that would really allow us to try to step out with that bottle.

I noticed flight 348 (EWR-SFO) was diverted to CLE to refuel, seems odd so early in the flight, anybody have a guess as to why?

Are you drinking alphabetically or by region?

That is a good point. However, one does not go to Perry's for beef (though I've heard it is remarkably good). The true delight here is the signature pork chop. They cook it four different ways and when it arrives tableside (where it is carved for you), you can take the blunt side of the fork and press on it, and it will fall apart. It is, seriously, one of the best things I've ever eaten. And I've eaten a lot. :D The Mont Blanc a la Frisc is probably the best dessert I've ever had as well, though it is too rich to not share I've found.

On the wine front, honestly, I dunno that we would go for a bottle ourselves, mostly due to price. Olivia's had some  wine listings, heh.
