This is what I thought and the way it used to be, but the wording on the LHR website seems to suggest that the shuttle drops you off at check-in, implying that you are no longer "in transit".

I need to get that book. That attitude is exactly why India has struggled so in the last century or two.

It is an excellent read. I've read it twice.

Likely so. I'm pretty sure that there are no customs/immigration facilities in the T6/7/8 complex.

That's an affirmative.

Do they really? I remember reading that there was a cluster of UA arrivals that used the facilities in T6, with only the early (?) arrivals sent to TBIT. Of course, UA has cut so much at LAX that there may not be enough flights left to justify keeping T6's customs/immigrations facilities open.

I did lhr-lax (y-) and we ended up getting bussed to tbit. I think ua only uses them for their syd flight if at all anymore.

Personally, I'd drive up today. Then I'd just take a very careful drive back home on Thursday or Friday. The weather is supposed to be sunny and clear on Thursday.

Thanks for the suggestion....I actually already booked Amtrak since the drive home would really stink otherwise. Gotta leave to go catch the train.

Ua has them at the end of their mainline pier, they just don't use them.

This just in: I'm officially jealous of Andy Roddick. And not because he has killer calf muscles.

:D

Dunkin is officially on my :rolleyes:list now. They gave me a bran muffin instead of blueberry and I didn't discover it until I was back to the office. Bran. Blech. I poo just fine, thank you. They ripped my joy of remembering the muffin coupon right out of me. I saved 40 cents on something that went in the garbage.

Hi, Box. :D

I recently did T1 to T3 (LH to VS). We were on a bus and never entered the UK immigration-wise but still had to go through security again (and the woman in front of me lost her water bottle).

Yeah -- they're having some real QA problems. Their rapid proliferation may be their downfall.
