Reservation disappeared
Hi all here is on for the website folks
On a recient trip PBI-EWR ERW-SFO SFO-IAH IAH-FLL ( all BF ) my resevation vanished from the website after the leg to SFO from EWR The website removed my SFO IAH FLL part of the trip It was just gone ! A quick call to the Onepass line solved the problem they could see the reservation that I could not see and sent me an email with the Reservation # so I could check in . I have not yet seen the return posted to my acct and the travel club has also not been credited. Does anyone know how this can happen and how long do I wait for my miles to post before I call Co? After all I did not walk from SFO ;) Has this happened to anyone else ? |

I am having a issue with pda.continental.com. I put in my OnePass number and PIN. I then click on the account link and it tells me it can't get the info. This is on a Treo 700p. Any suggestions? |
Missing flights on co.com selection screen
We fly fairly regularly CLE to SAN to spoil our grandkids, so I have some familiarity with what flights are offered, and I keep updated on the timetable in case something changes.
For about the last week, when I try to make a co.com reservation, only about four flights are listed, when I know there are more. Today, I decided to purchase a flight in August and again only a few of the available flights were listed. I called the elite help desk and they referred me to the web support site, where they suggested my browser (Seamonkey) wouldn't work, but IE would. I thanked them and hung up, since it would take a while to activate my IE, as I rarely use it. When I went back to co.com with IE, I had the same problem, compounded when it was unhappy with a privilege pack coupon I was trying to use. I deleted the coupon, and still had the same problem. I sent IE back to the ashcan and logged in with Seamonkey; when I still had the same problem (which was not particular to the dates of our proposed flights, as I tried a number of dates) so I called the help desk, and they were able to sell me the tickets, but mentioned that there would be a telephone booking cost; I asked, and they assured me I would earn 100% miles, which may be true as these weren't the cheapest fare class I often get. I don't care about the problems with the coupons, as I rarely use them, but I'm concerned that co.com doesn't list all available flights, and that if I have gone to the trouble of finding a flight they don't list, they charge me a telephone booking fee, and potentially subject me to the 50% mileage penalty. I'd rather buy on line, where I can look at the various options and compare them, rather than listening to an agent read the options, and make me work with unseen data. I'm not complaining about the agents, all of whom have been very helpful, but the web site is not now providing adequate service. |
Did you try search by schedule instead of search by lowest fare? I have seen the same issue in the past and clicking the schedule button always did it!

Safari and CO Calendar
I use Safari on a Mac. Lately, using the CO.com calendar causes an error and causes Safari to "unexpectedly quit." For example, when checking the timetable for flights from DTW to EWR on Sunday (7/8), as soon as I click on Sunday's date, the entire program shuts down.
I have also noticed it at other times from the calendar on the home page. Anyone else have this problem? |
If you review the thread for "Continental.com Master Thread" you will find a few of us not using IE have calendar problems....I know it's extremely frustrating when you are trying to search for travel.
I do not remember seeing Safari listed in the thread as having a problem with the calendar, so maybe you can post your experiences there for future review by COInsider. |
Silver Elite Bonus Difference
Mileage Calculator shows even a round-trip IAH-DAL purchased through a travel agent would earn 500 + 250 (silver elite bonus) for 750 each way.
Actual miles posted are 500 + 108 (silver elite bonus) for 608 each way. I don't think it matters (other than for elite qualifying miles), but I flew U class one way and Y class another way. Anyone know why I would earn less miles than what the mileage calculator shows? |

I haven't had any problem recently using Safari or Firefox on my Intel Mac. It could be a Java issue. Make sure you have downloaded the latest version. Also try the new Safari 3.0.2b. It's very stable and faster than the old one.

Answered my own question...
From the elite rules..."The bonus amount is based on the Elite status level and is calculated against the actual flight miles of each segment flown." So the mileage calculator is inconsistent with elite rules posted (bonus is based on actual miles flown (217 between IAH and DAL))on the website. Moderators - can you move this to the continental.com problems thread please? |
