It appears that thunderstorms are forecast for Saturday afternoon. Hope they don't impact the game . . . .

I can't wait for Saturday either. Despite having a week at home with no client to go to, it's been a stressful one at work. I need some Flying Saucer, Astros, and airline talk.

D-Oh! I just realized that Saturday's game is a preseason game!
Albeit the last preseason game...does that mean it's game 7 of the 2007 Preseason World Series?

It is essential, though, considering that for most of the MLB season, temps are upper 90's with high humidity, gorgon mosquitos descend upon the city like a biblical pestilence, and thunderstorms which can dump six inches of rain (or more) in a few short hours are not uncommon.

The field is a bit kitschy, what with a hill in center field and a flagpole in-play, but it's a nice ballpark, and really a good venue to watch a game in. It's light years ahead of the Astrodome as well, which was quite possibly one of the worst baseball venues in the country.

Been into it, no. Just drove past it on Sunday though...and, no, it did not look particularly impressive. However, it did look as if you could actually watch the game from the stands without needing binocs or a TV monitor (which somewhat defeats the purpose of actually going to a game in person).

Hehe, Nope. Astrodome hasn't been used as a major sports venue for years. It's Minute Maid Park (formerly Enron Field), Smack dab in Downtown.

How dare you....
You have insulted me, sir, and I demand satisfaction.
I agree that it was bad for baseball...and football...and boxing, basketball, monster truck ralles, political conventions, rodeos, concerts, and many other tings, like sucking tax dollars from the residents of Harris County.
However, it was always a cool 68 degrees in there...even in the heat of an August afternoon! Something I cannot say for the Juice Box, which leaves a bit to be desired when ti comes to HVAC in the Summertime.
