Also Final Four that night where the Stanford Cardinal will be moving on to the finals or drinks at the Presidents Club are on me.

If it is on Saturday, March 31st, pencil me in as a maybe for now. I will probably have a better idea the closer we get to February 28th. If nothing else, I will probably be able to skip the game and just join you all for a beer or two at the Flying Saucer afterwards.

Sincerely,

Excellent news, William. We would be glad to have the Lurker along, if possible ^

Looks like you can move me to the confirmed list for the Flying Saucer after the game, but I won't be able to make it to the game itself.

Field or Club 'Stros tickets? People flying in for the event? theblakefish passed out in the corner of the bar? Wow, even though this is technically a micro-do and nothing CO or FT-related is officially going on, A.L.C.O. might have to *UPGRADE* the title of this event to a Mini-Do!!

Never! Houston is capable of hosting only *The* DO & Micro-DO's. I'm fairly certain the city's charter prohibits Mini-DO's

I'm currently trying to decide whether to stay downtown or at the airport, as I'm on the 9:10 flight back to DCA on Sunday and would rather not have to deal with the commute back to the airport in the morning. The downside is that it would require me to commute back out to the airport the night before. Thoughts?

The commute on a Sunday from Downtown to the airport would not be bad (likely 30-35 mins, especially if you use the Hardy Toll Road spur after hopping onto Beltway 8 from I-45N). Even if staying at an airport property, the wait for a shuttle, running on its own schedule, may mean a 15-25 minute travel time depending on the airport/greenspoint hotel and shuttle involved.

If you're renting a car, I would definitely advise you to stay downtown, as I doubt we'll be especially sober come Saturday evening. If you're cabbing it, the difference in cost between a cab back to your airport hotel Saturday night or back to the Airport Sunday morning would be negligible.

The only major difference might be a few minutes of extra sleep if you stay near the airport. It would really come down to personal preference...

I'm not sure yet, but I might just have to drive in from SAT for this... (Probably not the 'Stros game, but I'm always game to visit the Saucer - and, yes, I know, driving kind of beats the purpose...)

Sounds like a good time.

Even after convincing the little woman that it's OK to pad LK's pockets with almost a grand of our money to fly a measly 1000 or so miles--not an easy talk-job, believe you me--the statuesque Mrs. RNE and I regret that we cannot attend this event because I have to work the 31st. I would send the missus without me, were it not for the noted ladies men* theblakefish and J.Edward lying in wait.

*My apologies to Tim Meadows.
