One Pass to Advantage
Does anyone know if there is any website or program to exchange Continental One Pass miles for American Advantage miles?
Thanks,

Yes, this is possible but you lose a lot in the process.
CO to Hilton Honors via Amtrak 1:2
Hilton Honors to Ebay anything points 10:1
Anything points to American Advantage about 1:1 via points.com until end of June.

HNL Flyer, welcome to Flyertalk!!
Are you looking for AAdvantage miles???? Or frequent flyer tickets on AA???
You can pass miles from CO to Amtrak at a 1-to-1 ratio, then from Amtrak to Midwest Airlines at a 1-to-1 ratio. Midwest can issue award tickets on American. This will help you avoid loss of points in the conversion.
Note that you can only pass 25K miles out of an Amtrak account per calendar year..... so have your sisters, brothers, friends, etc. help you out if you need to move more than 25k....
I hope that makes sense.
Good luck!!

Thanks for your info guys.
I want to move 105,000 points from one pass to advantage, for 3 Award Tickets on Advantage.
Now, with your method, how long will this whole operation take?
Thanks, Regards
George

There's a limit on transfers out of Amtrak (25K/calendar year for non-Select), so you can't launder miles in qty.
You can go to the coupon connection here and see whether someone wants to trade CO awards for AA awards.

Using KeepTraveling's method above, your 105,000 CO points would only translate to slightly over 20,000 AA points. It really isn't worth it.
Just in case you didn't know: With your 105,000 CO points, you can use them on Continental, NorthWest, Delta, and Alaska with no devaluation in points.

I am trying to get 3 R/T Tickets from San Pedro Sula, Honduras to Los Angeles, California, each ticket is 35,000 Miles. Want to use AA, since the flight goes SAP-MIA-DFW-LAX. I want the stop over in DFW.
Thanks,
George

I'm just don't know how you are going to get 3 tickets on AA using 105,000 CO miles to travel SAP to LAX with a stopover in DFW.
The best option that I could come up with is use 35,000/ticket on CO and travel SAP-IAH-LAX. Then, just buy a cheapy IAH to DFW return ticket and make a stopover in IAH on your CO award ticket.
So, you would go SAP-IAH-DFW-
then continue a few days later DFW-IAH-LAX on the outbound
and then LAX-IAH-SAP on the return.
(Note: The IAH-DFW and DFW-IAH portions would be on a bought ticket)
It is the same number of total stops as your SAP-MIA-DFW
then continue DFW-LAX
and the LAX-DFW-MIA-SAP on the return.
Just an option to think about! (IAH to DFW roundtrip nonstop is like $84.00)

Thanks Steve,
Just that I thought, that by DFW being a AA hub, some of AA flights from MIA to LAX have to go through DFW. So, since with an award ticket, you are allowed one free stop over in route, I would choose the DFW stopover, therefore avoiding buying a IAH-DFW ticket.
I think I might just have to buy the IAH-DFW ticket, to make things more simple .
Thanks,
George

HNflyer,
I think that the general consensus is that AA miles are worth a good amount more than CO miles. I don't have the AA miles, but if I did I certainly wouldn't trade them straight up for CO miles, and I live in Houston. CO is considered to have the worst availability of the majors, while AA is considered to have the best minus Southwest. If you can get the seats you want with the stopover at IAH, I'd hop all over it.

Please don't ask why I know any of this.

Umm... reading the other responses is making my head swim.
The Hilton conversion will eat away at your miles-- you wouldn't get 3 award tickets.
Midwest Airlines won't work because while you can get an AA ticket SAP--LAX, you can't do a stopover on an award.
You can plan your trip as you describe using your CO miles.... fly SAP--IAH--DFW on CO, then DFW--LAX on DL..... DFW is very much on the routing between SAP and LAX- and you will save time without the MIA transit.
Have you checked CO availability for your dates?? I'm guessing you already have.....

This won't work for you, but others who want to dispose of CO miles might be better off in coupon connection trying to arrange a trade. There have got to be a ton of AA123 vouchers floating around. (Alas, the AA123 vouchers won't get you to Honduras).
In the alternative, I would launder 90K miles into Amtrak, which can be redeemed for 3 nights at the Ritz Carlton. Those nights would definitely be worth more than what would remain after you transferred the miles back into another hotel or airline program

Unless the rule has been tightened recently, you can open Amtrak account for each of your family members (IIRC, CO or Amtrak only checks the last name for the transfer) then transfer 25K CO miles to 4 Amtrak accounts and 5K CO miles to 5th Amtrak account. (You have to call CO 5 times)
From Amtrak accounts, transfer them a UA MP account (I believe Amtrak limits transfering pt out of an its account not to a FF account).
Thus 105,000 CO miles becomes 105,000 UA miles. Using DC's miles to points option, 105,000 UA miles becomes 105,000 DC points. From DC points to AA miles, you will net 52,500 AA miles + 12,000 AA miles if you have to sign up for DC. Let me know if you need DC referral.
