You can try to launder through Diners Club too (Please check the Amtrak forum for the latest on the transfers) -

Unless the rule has been tightened recently, you can open Amtrak account for each of your family members (IIRC, CO or Amtrak only checks the last name for the transfer) then transfer 25K CO miles to 4 Amtrak accounts and 5K CO miles to 5th Amtrak account. (You have to call CO 5 times)

From Amtrak accounts, transfer them a UA MP account (I believe Amtrak limits transfering pt out of an its account not to a FF account).

Thus 105,000 CO miles becomes 105,000 UA miles. Using DC's miles to points option, 105,000 UA miles becomes 105,000 DC points. From DC points to AA miles, you will net 52,500 AA miles + 12,000 AA miles if you have to sign up for DC. Let me know if you need DC referral.
