Just that I thought, that by DFW being a AA hub, some of AA flights from MIA to LAX have to go through DFW. So, since with an award ticket, you are allowed one free stop over in route, I would choose the DFW stopover, therefore avoiding buying a IAH-DFW ticket.

I think I might just have to buy the IAH-DFW ticket, to make things more simple .
