Bumping the thread up!
The website for registration and activities/hotel booking is about to come!

Will it have a countdown clock? I LOVE countdown clocks on websites.

The main issue I have with the countdown clocks is that once you hit your moment, everything stops. :( Which is just not right.
If you insist on having a countdown clock, we should have another countup clock once the party begins. @:-)

Thanks for compiling/updating the list... I feel like I count now. :o

And what would a countup clock measure? The time we remain sober since the arrival? then it'll need negative numbers!

How about the length of time the hangover lasts for ;)

you mean after the Doo?
During the doo there will be no time for hangovers. All activities are carefully scheduled to keep the blood levels in the alcohol stream aproximately constant during the whole weekend :D

To other subjects: rumor has it that alanw will be launching the registration website at some point this weekend. The activities program is finished, and it loooks so good that it will be difficult to overcome this Doo next year!

Oh, I've already got something planned for next year. ;)

Let's keep this thread for discussing THIS year's Doo. Those who attend will get a sneak peak at next year's plan. And boy is it going to be different. (a)

Everyone stand by, the web site is launching later today. Ready or not.

The registration web site is live. I feel like I just gave birth to a microwave oven.

Is it a Panasonic or a Samsung? (Just so I know what colour woolly booties to bring!) But really, the website is excellent - however, a lot of activities to choose from, so I'll have to wait a bit until all three of me can agree on a plan of action.

In the meantime, I've just been told that KLM have dropped the flight I was booked on, AMS-BCN, and I've been rebooked on a later one, arriving BCN @22:45 (on Wed 28th). I guess getting into town is no real problem, though!

What's the latest on groups/gangs/gaggles (what is the collective noun for FTers?) sorting out transport from Barcelona (city) to Andorra on Friday 30th? Any possibility of getting a private-hire minibus, or something similar?

--H

Henry III Jun 8, 2009 5:31 am

Just a short follow-on! I found a private-hire company (technically, an "Airport Transfer" company) called, I think, ipsCA: here's their website: link.

They offer Barcelona City - Andorra La Vella at the following prices:

1 person = €390 (very expensive)
5 people = €390 (€78 per person - not bad)
10 people = €490 (€49 per person, pretty good)

Anyone interested in forming a gaggle/gang/group? I was thinking of leaving from somewhere central (the Hilton on Avd. Diagonal, perhaps) at around midday on Fri 30th - but I'm open to (polite) suggestions.
