Napa Cabernet was surprisingly good (especially given the $11 price point). The one I was very surprised by was the 2008 Chateauneuf-du-Pape. It is young yet, but in time it will make a very fine wine...at an under $20 price point. Even now, it was a pleasure to drink. I will be heading over to Costco in the not-too-distant-future to pick myself up a few bottles.

dhammer53's loss...

Both from Windsor Vineyards in California. The Carignane (2007) is one of my favorites. Highly recommended.

Second, third, fourth, and fifthing this. Bob, your generosity and hospitality (and whatever else beckoa was trying to say while drunk-typing above ) is unmatched. Not everyone would slave away (OK, drive across town twice ) on a phenomenal 10-hour brisket, drop unsolicited fundage on a fine flight of wine, and then allow us to take over your dining room and living room for an entire night. Please know you are much appreciated.
Awww................shucks, you're makin' me blush

Indeed! Bob's wine collection is surpassed only by his generosity and hospitality. Thanks again for hosting another smashing success. ^^

Keep us posted... none scheduled yet... but that can always change (assuming someone's in town which there should be )

What are the dates of your visit? And could you postpone your trip until the last weekend of August? (or come back to ANC )

Unfortunately for him, he is well on the way to developing a bad habit for which he will (one of these days) need to end up paying for.

...and a steep price to pay it will be.

There seems to be some visitation activity in Alaska in July and August. I'm on the road now, but when I get back and can focus, I will try to coordinate everyones' schedules.

Bad habit...very bad habit, and I've only used it on three flights. Slept through the fourth. And after using it to actually do work, I think I will be able to expense it in the future.

Of course, FREE (or borrowed) is always preferred.

Anyone up to doing something Fri/Sat/Sun night for Solstice? IIRC I get off at 6:30 PM each of those.
