Hi all,
I'll be back in ANC from 12/13-12/27, if anyone's going to get together during that time period. |

After consulting with BOB W, it looks like we may be interested planning a Fireworks Do on New Year's Eve.
Anyone up for wine, Beef Bourgingon a la Julia Child, and fun times? stellertony and Major G: we may be able to put something together such as a meet-up at Moose's Tooth or something for you guys, since you won't be here then. I am not sure it's advisable having me be in charge of launching them... as I almost hit some innocent last year :o [And I was sober :p] And my place of employment closes by 5 PM that evening, so I should be free... [BR closes at 12:30 PM :( NYE but opens 8 AM NYD ] |

[BR closes at 12:30 PM :( NYE but opens 8 AM NYD ] Our neighborhood is an active launching site for fireworks every year, so we were just going to enjoy the neighbor kids' antics--not participate. Should you choose to BYOF, though, we will not be responsible for what happens... :p |
[QUOTE=jackal;12878934]Actually, Major G was one of the first FTers I ever met. ;)
Yeah, two tours to Iraq in four years makes it kind of hard to be a 'regular'. When we get together, I've got a great story to tell you guys involving United Airlines and my last tour. Glenn |

Um, it's a fireworks watching DO, not a fireworks launching DO.:p Our neighborhood is an active launching site for fireworks every year, so we were just going to enjoy the neighbor kids' antics--not participate. Should you choose to BYOF, though, we will not be responsible for what happens... :p I'll leave them in your car :D |

Practice, my good man, practice. It's not really that hard;)
Had one of those roman candles (big version) and didn't set it firm enough on the ground (in the snow - center of a culdesac) and it went off kilter and started firing  |

Is anyone doing a meetup to see "Up in the Air" with George Clooney? I know Randy Peterson will be back at the big premier in NYC hob-nobbing with all the glitterati. He's got a contest going with Wendy Perrin (Conde NAste Traveler) about the premier to the movie--and to be the uber-consigliari to one lucky FF, etc. HAHA.
So--I've seen the trailers. Must see the movie. Thoughts? |

So--I've seen the trailers. Must see the movie. Thoughts? One of our own is actually currently viewing it at the OGG film festival as I type this. Unfortunately, I have not found out about any advance viewings here in Anchorage, but it opens on December 4th. Showtimes for December 4th have not been posted yet, but I've subscribed to Fandango's Fan Alerts for the movie, so I'll update here when showtimes are available. Although I highly doubt one'll be offered, are we interested in a midnight showing (I'll be getting off at 2am, though), or do we want to do something that afternoon? (I'll have to be to work at 4pm, though.) If weekends are easier for a group, we can do something Saturday, too. And last call for tomorrow's meet-up at Muse at the museum. Show up at noon if you want to meet up! (PM me your email address or cell phone number--I'll have my phone with me and can email you back or text/call you with details if need be.) |
Not a fan of Clooney, but I could be FORCED to go. Let me know when.

Would you prefer Saturday? Would sometime around 1pm-2pm work? |

Decent movie with lots of AAction :p (well a little) - the f bomb is dropped around a bit, as is status  For a while I thought there was hope for me... then it all turned south :( ;) If you are addicted to travel- check it out- its got a romantic spin unfort, but enough jokes- I was LOL'ing it tonight @ the Maui Film Festival First Light showing
