ANC B terminal Opening Celebration
 

ANC's B terminal is opening up tomorrow, and a couple of us FTers are getting together to celebrate :cool:... I'll be there around 7 PM...

As I mentioned in a couple of other threads, I plan to be there at 1pm for the airport employee opening and then stay through the 2pm-4pm public opening ceremony and open house. I'll be back around 7pm to meet up with beckoa, AKronin, and anyone else who wants to drop by! :)

The Anchorage Museum is open for free admission November 27-29 (Thanksgiving weekend).

I haven't been in since the new expansion was completed, and I'd like to check out the architecture, so I'll probably be dropping by.

The new wing won't be fully open until next spring (either March or May--I can't recall), at which time they'll be opening some new exhibits (including a Star Wars one!), but you can still walk around and see the work they've done.

Anyone interested in joining? We can start with lunch at Orso--it's my new favorite lunch spot in the city: Orso-fabulous food at cheaper-than-chain-restaurant prices. You can't beat it. Alternatively, if the crowd demands, we could do Club Paris--they have awesome burgers at lunchtime. Then we can spend the afternoon at the museum (which is also hosting a juried holiday craft fare--the reason the admission is free) before I have to be to work at 4pm.

What day? i'll be buzzing around various points of alaska that weekend ..

Well, the 27-29 is Friday-Sunday (though let me confirm I got the dates right with the museum). I'm actually more or less open all three days, so I can go with whatever one is best for whoever is interested in joining.

Saturday would work for me.

Well, let's tentatively plan for something Saturday noontimeish at Orso or Club Paris, then. :) Maokh, when are you going to be around?

I'll be making a visit to the BR assuming its open early on the 26th... and then departing on AS872 at 10 AM in 3D :cool: returning the 5th...

Seat 2A is up for Saturday as well. Looks like we've got three of us (Seat 2A, me, and BOB W). Maokh, can you join?

BOB W suggested checking out the Marx Bros. cafe at the museum. I think that's an excellent suggestion! I've updated the post in page 1 to reflect that.

I'll be back in ANC from 12/13-12/27, if anyone's going to get together during that time period.

I'll be back in Anchorage to see my rarely visited house (and family) 18-29 Dec. Put me down for the Days are Getting Longer DO and anything else you guys dream up.
