Will tortillas hold up until the 5th?

I assume this DO is still on. Since I am doing an ANC-ORD-ANC turn Friday night, I won't have a lot of time to plan the menu for the Farewell (again) to Jackal event.

I will supply the wine and a pasta salad. Volunteers are needed for the other ingredients.

Waiting on an update for tortillas. I'll be off around 6:30 so say meet up at 7?

Keeping it simple sounds good. Peppers, onions, meat, guac. Sounds good to me ;)

I have tortillas. Whether they will be edible is a different question.

I'm not really sure what kind of updates you're waiting for...either they will be edible or they will be covered in green fuzz.

Just bring some tortas back from Tortas Frontera and that'll do for the Do nicely.

Explore the amazing flavors of Mexico at Tortas Frontera. Created by Chef Rick Bayless, Tortas Frontera features hand-crafted tortas, fresh-made guacamole and hand-shaken margaritas. Now, the type of quick-service gourmet you expect to find in a downtown hotspot is available (to go!) at the nation's busiest airport.

Chef Bayless has created a menu that is certain to set a new standard for airport food. Tortas Frontera combines high-quality ingredients from top local providers with recipes based on the incredible fare found in Mexico:

Tortas: griddle-baked Mexican sandwiches with a variety of fillings such as beer-braised beef short ribs, chipotle chicken, garlicky shrimp and goat cheese
Molletes: warm, open-faced sandwiches
Guacamole Bar: freshly made roasted tomatillo guacamole with your choice of toppings
Fresh tortilla chips with salsa
Soups, salads, breakfast sandwiches, yogurt bar
Plus Goose Island beer, bloody Marys and the best Margaritas in any airport anywhere.
"An airport restaurant listing the local farms where its meat comes from? Unheard of...Bayless has outdone himself."
–Time Out Chicago

This looks quite appetizing indeed, and I know that food court over on O'Hare's K concourse well. I'll certainly make a point of visiting next time I'm through town. I'll be through Anchorage in two weeks but alas, I don't believe there's any Mexican food outlets in terminal. Heck - I'd settle for Taco King at either ANC or FAI - it'd definitely be a lot better and less expensive than the current concession at FAI.

If I have time and can find it, I will see what I can bring back. How is the green fuzz investigation going?
