No, but you can walk across to Clarke Quay and go to either 1NiteStand or Crazy Elephant

Regarding live entertainment, was just at the St. James Power Station, adjacent to the "new" (for me, and possibly others ) Vivo Mall, and there are quite a few places with live entertainment there.

I only went into The Boiler Room as a guest of a member, but it wasn't too happening as far as the crowd was concerned - no young vibrant types and not many foreigners at all....

However, the live performance was pretty good, (acceptable)

Just found their website: http://www.stjamespowerstation.com

(Edited to add: I think that Powerhouse at the St. James is the place for dance, according to local blogs...)

Live entertainment is difficult to find, and what Savage25 posted is what is considered to be the "standard" for Singapore.

From brewerkz as Savage 25 points out Clark Quay is close. Also a little further is the lobby lounge at the Holiday Inn Atrium. Live house band and Happy Hour IIRC 3:30-9:00PM.
Also check out the SQ website for discounts at different places including Clark Quay for anyone of you possessing recent SQ Boarding Passes.

The 1NiteStand is also a good recommendation for those who will be in SIN between the 25th and the 28th. On those nights, there will be live stand-up comedy (it's always Wednesday - Saturday during the last week of the month) at the club.

They fly in comedians, usually from Britain, and it's always a blast. I've been twice, and both times I was sore the next day from laughing so hard.

Mrs Unagi1 and I will be arriving in SIN on July 29th in the early afternoon from KUL.

Haven't been monitoring meet threads for some time since the Jan SIN Do, and I just got back into things and saw this one.

Can also join the group as things evolve.

Please count me in. Tickets are not yet booked, but it's on my calendar. I'll be arriving from MXP early in the morning of the 29th and doing a CGK turn on the 30th.

I might have to try and throw in on this, if I can find any tickets that are close to reasonable, and maybe coupon conx for some swoos

This would definitely secure me as 1K for '08.

Awesome! Any clue what time you would be leaving on the 30th? A few of us are outbound on the 30th, so maybe it's time for an SQ Lounge Do?

Would be awesome if you made, it Travis!^

Tempting for a Tiger...

I could be tempted to come down from glorious BKK for such a social occassion ! May try Tiger for the first time (the airline, not the beer!!!! ).

Of course, there'll be some sweet-talking required for the lady in my life, but given thatshe thinks I'm already mad as a hatter - should be no worries!

I'll advise later - I'm off to HAN and SGN for a couple of weeks o Sat, then BKK-LHR//drive around UK//LPL-KRK-DTM-FRA-BKK with my lads in last 2 weeks of Jun ... sigh, so much flying to enjoy!

Cheers, TK

I am in SIN right now and just returned from a stroll around Clark Quay. There is no shortage of live entertainment at the places mentioned above and others, and it looks like the kind of place the group can comfortably roam.^

Sorry that I wont be here when you are here...or maybe business will get me back here then!

Arrow A couple more ideas...

Was talking with a couple of people and the idea of "1NiteStand" on Saturday seems interesting. They seem to have a comedian that night, so would anyone else be interested in going?

In addition or alternately, skye1 was saying that they had an interesting time at one of local DO's with the night safari at the SIngapore Zoo... I guess we could either do that Saturday night or after dinner Sunday. Would anyone be interested in that?

Just some thoughts...

I have a connection, not a stopover, so I have to leave before 07:55. That means SQ952, the 07:40 departure. I might meet folks in the lounge after I return from CGK about lunch time.
