Updated to add: Mr. Lori_Q declined these dates. He has to defend his direct reports during his lab's performance evaluation/ranking season. My big conundrum is: Do I hang onto my ten-day paid/upgraded tickets, or do I upfare at least $400 for weekend-only tickets? I'm thinking of "working remotely" from Singapore for the week. Four hundred bucks buys a lot of hotel nights and chilli crabs.

Well I am sorry that I was a no show for the 2007 Do as I was in thailand for a friends wedding. Please add me to the list for 2008 as this gives me alot of time to book a ticket.

I'll follow my annual habit of adding myself as a maybe now - not that I've EVER made the January event. (This coming year the annual trade show that gets in my way has been bumped into February so I remain optimistic that I can actually take this weekend off for a change and be there!)

My exams will beginn on Jan-15 in Switzerland, so there is no chance for me heading down to SIN. I'm pis*** :td: :td: . Even if I grab an F seat on SQ (as the last time) it would be too risky because of the upcoming exams :mad:

And even in 2009 I'll have the same problem again:mad:

Just reserved my flight to SZG-FRA-SIN-AKL with SQ and I will make a stopover for the weekend at SIN to join the DO. So I am very interested and you can put me on the list.

Question for the seasoned DO FTs for the SIN DO:

Is staying at IC Singapore a good option (located for DOs activities) ?

The IC Singapore is located at Bugis, which means it has its own MRT stop, plus it's a quick 4 minute bus ride from the Conrad, where a lot of people tend to stay. It should be OK.

Besides, if worst comes to worst, taxis are very cheap in SIN, and readily available outside of rush hour.
