In good news, my upgrade for SIN-DPS cleared. I now have an aisle seat (can't recall which one) in row 14 on the party flight.

similar problems
i had cancelled all credit cards in my papyal account and i coulndt get new activation numbers for the ones i did enter.
so i knew i wont be able to paypal money.
i will be in bali tommorow , but i think as the deadline is over it is not fair even if i go to the restaurant and paid it directly.
anyway, i am in the SKL now and having some chocolat caramel FAUCHON to calm down a bit , as checkin people gave as a example of outstanding BAD customer service.

Evening....from the SKL HKG. Probably wondering what the heck I'm doing in the HKG SKL at 9:03 PM Saturday evening when my flight was suppose to depart at 8:00 PM.
Well it looks like my flight is delayed, due to a mechanical ex-ORD. Looks like new arrival time is 2:37 AM in SIN. Thank goodness I cancelled my stay at the Sheraton and decided to slum it in the SKL.
So all isn't bad!
Good news...
- Cleared immigration and went and got some of StarG's mango desserts
Better news...
As many of you may have read, UA fumbled with my SIN-DPS ticket and then couldn't rebook me since there was no "I" class. Well from talking to a few of you it looks like my seat was still occuppiied. So I went over to the SQ ticketing desk to see if I was still on the flight even though UA supposedly cancelled it. Low and behold, I still had a booking on the flight, but it was refunded. Hmm. So I'm thinking I have a held reservation in "I" class. I go over to the UA desk and tell them that SQ still has a reservation for me on the flight. I ask the agent to see if she can call SQ to see if they will cancel that reservation in hopes the "I" seat will go back into inventory. After one phone call SQ got rid of my held reservation. I then ask the agent to see if the "I" space was available. Jackpot! The "I" space reappeared and I'm now back on the party flight

I absolutely refuse to deal with any company that has virtually no customer service and PayPal is NUMBER 1 on the list.
I let it be known earlier on through a PM that if an alternative payment method to working with a crappy company was not offered we would not be in attendance at the dinner. An alternative was "created" and we will attend. YMMV

Good evening eh morning from the SKL F lounge in SIN. So my journey to Bali takes a twist. UA 895 gets delayed again ex-HKG. No not another mechancial! To sum it up a beligerent passenger and some choice words to some of the crew caused yet another delay. I'll leave it up to your imagination, but local authorities came onboard the aircraft and searched the plane. We finally pushed back at 12:50 AM Sunday and touched down in Singapore at 4:20 AM.
The drama occurred somewhere on the main deck so I'm not sure what happened to the passenger. All I know is they were taking witness statements from other passengers. The captain said safety was his utmost priority whether it meant a delay of 10 minutes or 10 hours. The funny thing was before we were informed of the beligerent passenger we were told we were waiting for connecting passengers and paperwork to be completed. I personally don't think there were any connecting passengers since the original departure time of UA 895 HKG-SIN is 8:00 PM and we were well past 11:30 PM.

For those wondering, I am heading back to Asia on Thursday. ;-)

Just as many state here on FT that they would rather walk than fly a certain airline - my feelings after wasting several days of my "valuable" time trying to find PayPal customer service is that I would rather not attend than use their service again.
BTW we are down to less than 48 hours to our departure for our first trip to Bali

Quickly checking in from UA's IFL at LAX. Off to a good trip so far with an excellent crew on my first segment! And an interesting pax in the F cabin in the row in front of me...
