for food suggestions, perhaps the more adventurous of you might want to check out the untourist places, like coffeeshops along joochiat road, there's a really good south indian restaurant called gandi on the back streets of serangoon road and more.

pm me if you're interested in more food-ventures.

p.s had a look at the website. food at newton circus is over priced. an alternative location might be chomp chomp food centre at serangoon gardens.

Count me in

A few things poped up at home & work so I can not do last mintues MR to keep my 1k lite status. In fact, I will be dropping down to 2P.

To preserve my 100% RDM bonus, I am booking as close to 50,000 miles worth of trips in the first two months of 2006, as possibile. In that spirit, I just signed up for SIN DO 2006.

JAN 11: UA837/UA891
JAN 17: UA890/UA852

On the waitlist for upgrade

AS HGP DIA, I am most likely staying at Grant Hyatt. But past issue GH Singapore and pending merger may push me to Le Meridian Orchard or Changi Village.

I plan to attend as many FT SIN DO funcation as I can.

See you guys

if you're going to stay le meridien changi i'd suggest not walking out for a late night snack and do not walk into the street NEXT to the hawker centre. might be in for an unexpected surprise of a TRANSient nature

To be honest, eventhough Grand Hyatt SIN has some problems, but it is still much better option than Le Meridien.

For us economy (cheap) folks who don't care about hotels really, I like Le Meridien Orchard, good location, clean comfortable bed and $90US per night ^

I know, I may only do the first night and last night at LM Changi. It's just not worth it paying the full rate, pay $30 taxi ride, and found out that GH SIN doesn't have your room ready. For cheaper nightly rate, short or free ride, no history of "issues," I will take my chance with LM Changi Village and the LBs.

Despite what I said about GH SIN in Hyatt forum recently, I found it very encourage that GH SIN management is monitor FT Hyatt forum. It's a good thing he/she alerted GH BKK management of a complain and get issue addressed. I hope that means our usual complains about GH SIN are taken care off.

Currently, I don't hate GH SIN enough to commute from Hyatt JB yet, as I had treatened to do. But we will see.

mjm - sadly, you'll have to scratch me from the list of possible attendees. I will be in SIN on Friday night and Saturday morning but will be departing for KUL on Saturday afternoon. I could attend the Friday night "munch", but given the late hour it starts at, I probably won't be up for it after a week of working days/nights.

Anyway, I hope all you guys and gals have fun.
