Spiffy,

I hate to ruin your plan, but there is no way to "stay inside security".
Once inside the terminal, the officer opens a gate and shepherds everyone two steps into the lobby. Another three steps puts you at the entrance of the terminal.
And yes there are plastic bus terminal seats inside the terminal. Bathrooms are right there. They even provide a water cooler.
Did not look for outlets there, but I imagine(hope) they would be accessible.
About 20 minutes to flight time they gear up security for the influx. Be prepared to be intently wanded and checked.

Yes. Vinnie at Watertown Enterprise told me, when I made reservations, that Brounty Aviation Service acts as their concierge/agent for after hours transactions. He said it's not unusual for travelers to pick up and/or drop off after business hours.

Two day minimum on a rental at $39.99 a day for a Neon, however. No specials, as Enterprise is not actually located at the airport.

On Enterprise's web site I found a Neon for like $28 including tax for one day... what you are saying makes me think I can't book that.

I believe I saw where Brounty is located.... it's a small building (in between some hangars) just down the access road from the terminal. It's where the cars are parked by those buildings.

Give Vinnie a call at 315-782-0100. Let it ring, though. It took about 10 rings before he answered.

He said that the specials are for airport locations, which they (Watertown Enterprise) are not, and since they would be leaving the car Saturday morning and picking it up Monday morning it would be two days. It is unlimited mileage, some of the Enterprise specials I saw were 300 miles and $.25 a mile after that.

But as always, YMMV. I made a reservation just to cover my bases, but we may just rely on FAT MAN.

Give Vinnie a call.

I had asked SeeYa on Saturday to tell me whether ART is a shoe carnival airport.

Sounds like it's even worse. Not only can you not stay inside security, the TSA screeners are intent on giving secondary screening to as many people as possible.

I just talked to a very nice young lady at Enterprise... She said they are getting slammed today! She said I could pick up and drop off my car right at the airport (actually about 100 yards away but they will drive over and get me). The rate she quoted was like $39 but I told her I saw it online for $25 and she said she could make it $27 and I accepted. Now I just have to find a hotel!

Not sure if this is the right thread to ask, since it seems this thread is for people coming into ART, but is there a parking lot at the airport that's safe to leave a car for 5 days? And if so, how much is it to park there?

Yes, there is free parking right next to the terminal building. Yesterday, looked like about fifteen cars or so to one side, another 8 or so on the other side (but some may have been employees). Seems safe enough. There's a police officer there during the day. I gather it's pretty safe at night.

Parking is free like most of these micro airports. I used to fly to Dubois, PA for business. I reserved $25 a day for three days for a midsize. I arrive on Friday night at 10 pm. I was routed to central Enterprise reservations on Saturday because Vinnie had gone home. They told me that the location might let me pay for only 2 days. I fly back on Sunday afternoon.

This is great because I always wanted to visit Sackets because my ancestors lived there.
