Punki Jun 12, 2004 6:36 pm

We arrive Friday A.M., barring any strikes/labor actions, :D :D so, we should be able to have a nice arrival nap and be ready to party Friday p.m.

We will also participate on Saturday, but leave Sunday morning to return to the US, so we will not be joining you at your lovely flat for the farewell festivities.

Can't wait to see you all in DUS. :)

Hopefully no strikes!

Punki sweetie, I was afraid to post but UK looks to have strikes in June  Shades of last year, but then I thought I remembered you were going via FRA so you'll be ok. auh2o & wingless on the other hand...yikes. We'll hold the beer for you (not - but we will toast in your honor!). Hope everyone makes it over ok w/ no delays. Cheers.

We are actually flying SEA/ORD/DUS via UA and Privatair on which we will fly a 737 with only 48 seats. Should be interesting.

Sharon.. where is your source of info on strikes ? Sean and I are on LH though, but still want to learn more.

Punki Private Air is a nice experience. No F of course, but the biggest PLUS is the absolute hassle free CI and boarding and delivery of bags .. and flying into DUS: No cxns at any of the huge hubs with all those risks ;)

bernie, your list 2 / 2 / 2 / 2 for Gisela and me is correct. Anything you propose for the PRE is ok for us (personnel preference is the Thai around the corner of your home) - if we would be on our own, together with you, we wouldn't mind either to invite you for Thursday evening to a Michelin *** dinner at the Schiffchen!

Life's just one big adventure.

We will manage one way or another.

That is what Punki and Hunki probably said last year.

And missed nearly all the weekend. ;)

I mean that I will make the best of where I am. If the UK goes on strike and I don't think we will make it to DUS then I will try to form a spontaneous FT LONDON DO and celebrate DUS's Alt with an ale. :p :D

GK, can't remember where I read about the possible union strikes in June - maybe London Times - or another online source. It reminded me of Punki's experience last year & trying to get to Dus Do, and wondering if auh2o/wingless would get hit w/ that too (but now that they're routing through IAD on the way over, they don't have to worry).

Bernie, Thai or any local restaurant works for me. I think there's 7-9 folk arriving on Thurs.

Also, would you post the suggested attire for the weekend so that folk who haven't been before can plan accordingly.

'we' found out, that we can never dress-up to the level of Punki/Hunki anyway, and so, we just don't care anymore much (leisure is ok all the way).

Dress Code

As Rudi pointed out NO dresscode

then is it safe to assume that shorts are appropriate. What about in the evening? Is it cool enough that I should plan on jeans/slacks for the evening?

Sounds pretty cool to me. ;)

If you don't mind to be recognized on first sight as friends from the USA, just wear shorts outside pool-/sea-side-areas or mountain-hiking-trails in Western Europe ;)
