SCHEDULE of EVENTS

There's still some finetuning to be done ... and, oh, it's "Jazzrally", so there is some Jazz included

Friday, 25th

6:30pm Tram Ride (3h)
Some sightseeing aboard historical tram (1936). Food (& drink) stop !

9:30pm Jazz @ Nachtresidenz (near to downtown hotels) performed by "Mardi Gras bb" (Motown)

from 10:30pm ... at your leisure (either go to Altstadt or sit down at Cafe Bernstein)

Saturday, 26th

morning at your leisure (shopping at Königsalle, Jazz Concerts, take care of your hangover from Friday nt)

3:30pm Rivercruise (3 - 4 h)
travel aboard MS "Maria Franziska" alongside Altstadt to the new "Mediahafen" with the famous Gehry buildings and then some 30 mins down the river to "Kaiserswerth", Short stop.(follow Emperor Barbarossa's tracks to the medieval ruins of his castle ... picturesque houses, idyllic places ... in the typical Lower Rhine countryside). The way back "up" the river will take some 2 hrs. We'll make good use of it - having dinner :). We will be back in the Altstadt at about 7:30pm. Just a few steps and we join

8pm Klaus Doldinger's "Brazil Project"
at the "Burgplatz Jazz Zelt". We will have reserved space near to the stage and will be served "Frankenheim Alt". Don't know yet, if we'll have our own kegs once again. End of show will be at 11pm. Stroll thru Altstadt. It will be swingin.

Sunday, 27th

"Traditional" Farewell @ Bernie's

Total cost will be approximately 125 - 130 € for the abovementioned program incl. food and a few ;) beverages.

Also included is the entrance fees to all Jazzrally events over the entire weekend (except those in the opera house and the Robert Schumann location) Jazzrally Program - (Sorry only German. Opens with Friday. Pls see links on that site for Sat / Sun).

Rudi Jun 1, 2004 2:57 pm

Gisela and I hardly can wait.

I wonder how we can hold back Punki insisting of starting to dance in the middle of a serious jazz concert.

bernie Jun 1, 2004 3:19 pm

Don't worry Rudi. I'd never ever plan anything "really serious" for a DUS DO. The "Nachtresidenz" is a lounge / nightclub / disco / bar thing and Klaus Doldinger will play in a tent on Burgplatz right in the middle of the Altstadt. There isn't even seats.

SkiAdcock Jun 1, 2004 3:25 pm

Can't Wait!

Looks great as always! Looking forward to seeing everyone & experiencing another fab Dus Do! Cheers.

I too agree with magic agreeing with Jerrie, who, according to magic, is always right. ;)

One question: What time is the 'traditional' farewell ceremony @ bernie's on Sunday?

Jerrie, will you forgive magic111, if he will have a look from time to time at my transportable mini-TV for the European soccer championship games in Portugal?

SkiAdcock Jun 2, 2004 12:42 am

Will Bernie forgive me if I occasionally look at Rudi's portable mini-tv? Wait, I'm an FTer - I can drink alt, talk miles & watch sports at the same time!

belle3388, I think it's usually late morning or early aft. He doesn't make it too early am since Sat eve normally goes pretty late - or early, depending how you look at it. Hmm, think 4-5am was last call (or wake-up calls!) last year on Sat eve, er, morning.

wingless Jun 2, 2004 12:51 pm

Thanks Bernie!!!

As always you make this trip so easy.

Mmmm Frankenheim

GK Jun 2, 2004 11:11 pm

Me too !

Bernie

Looks like I'll be in Europe that weekend, so count me in as a late possibility. I'll just have to check a few things and will confirm ASAP. Sean will be at home in HKG, as this is part of a work trip for me.

Graeme

SkiAdcock Jun 3, 2004 12:21 am

Woo-hoo! GK might make it. We'll miss Sean, but glad you're a possibility.

ozstamps Jun 3, 2004 12:40 am

Thanks bernie. Looks to be a most well organised Doooo as usual. :p ^ :p
