I can report that Ozstamps and Joh boarded the plane from IAD to AMS this afternoon. We were on the same plane from LAX to IAD. Good to meet up with them and hope they have a great flight across the pond. Wish I could have come along but work called.

Hope everyone has a great time. Look forward to hearing how it went.

I am bringing my cell. Number (inside Germany) is 0170-560-6975.

I just managed to stiff-arm an attempt to send me to Warsaw this weekend - at least, I *think* I managed to do so successfully.

Staying at the Renaissance for the nights of Friday and Saturday, then moving to the 4-Points Sunday AM.

NOTE: If you have the Marriott Elite Exclusive Offers certificate for staying 2 weekend nights and paying one, they have a rate of 69 Euro per night including taxes and service charges (which means €69 total for the two nights)!

Room is on the Club floor, and the rate includes breakfast, complimentary soft drinks, and (should you be in the hotel in the evenings, which I don't expect to be) hors d'oevres from 1800 - 2000 nightly.

I realize it's a bit out of the way, but at a rate of €34.50 per night, with breakfast (and Platinum welcome gift), I figure I can afford to spring for a taxi. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

cellphone ... please keep in mind, that you'll need a dual- or triband. US phones don't work here and vice versa.

got some mails re weather forecast. Summer in Europe has been unusually hot and dry ... and will be this week:
It’s hot today … but it’s getting more humid into the week. Forecast says: scattered thunderstorms on Thursday (chance.20%), some isolated th’storms on Friday (10%)and partly cloudy over the weekend.

Temps should be in the high 70’s to high 80’s (25-35 Celsius) – it will be still quite warm at night (low 70’s / 22-25).

This is todays forecast in Paris.

Today
Jul 15 Mostly Sunny 100°/67°

I didn't pack properly for this heat.

Whew it's hot!!

I hope it a little cooler in DUS.

ozstamps Jul 15, 2003 3:40 am

wingless ... pack the summer clothes!

We were sitting outside having lunch in Santa Monica Sunday, and it is even warmer here as it was there.

This morning in AMS it was near 100, and same in FRA when I flew through. I will not even tell you what it is in Istanbul. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I packed summer clothes but only a few sleaveless blouses. At home, LA, that is all I wear all summer shorts, tank tops and bathing suits. I was trying to bring nicer clothes but right now I could care less what I look like and from what I see no one else cares either.
