I chatted with Guy Betsy briefly last night - he is in Sydney right now, but will set up dinner when he gets back to SIN at the beginning of the week.
No restaurant is set yet, but (for those who HAVE to have advance notice), it will be one of the casual rustic open air places with lots of hearty food and cold beer.
Keep checking back here... early next week a meeting place/time will be posted. It will most likely be the Sheraton lobby - that way we can all head out as a group.

kenji,
I think 8 Sept (Sunday) is the best day if people are going to come landside. It may actually be too much of a time challenge if we take into account the terminal transfers etc. Ideally I would be able to get myself airside for a bit, but this may be easier said than done with the immigration etc. I will check out what is possible though. I cannot get to SIN this trip unfortunately with work and needing to stock up on brownie points so I can do the Bay Area in the first few days of Nov. (Going to be home?)
767-322ETOPS,
Your details are now updated on the webpage.
Safe travels,
Mike

Several folks have commented (to me at least) that they will be up for drinking on Sunday night when we get in, so I'm sure you'll find takers on that.
I had suggested earlier that those who are up for it meet in the lobby of the Sheraton around midnight to catch those of us arriving from the airport.
I believe the bars are open until 2 (or maybe 3) and after that there are always the contents of your mini-bar.

A Duty Free shop in SIN, just on the left as you leave the Immigration checkpoint and before the luggage carousels, is open when you arrive and you can shop there on your way into Singapore. Mentioned for those who might want to stock up for the day.

Stocking up, eh? I always thought half the fun of a FT event was finding someone like auh2o who is willing to let us empty his minibar!
In all reality, however, I am wondering how well some of us will be doing when we stagger off the plane... let me see... for me:
- mimosas with breakfast DFW-ORD
- a bottle of champagne in the ORD Flagship Lounge
- 14 hours of drinking with Spiff on the ORD-NRT flight (including the FAs hopefully letting me have all the remaining F and J Tokaji like they normally do)
- power hour(s) at the NRT lounges (AA, CX, UA, SQ)
- six more hours from NRT-SIN (where I might be the only one still unlucky enough to have NOT had my upgrade clear)
Yeah, I'm sure we will be up for more!
(Last year, the TPE crowd was downing the minibar at 3 am in AAdvantage Guy's suite, IIRC.)

OK, we have established that quite a few people are not interested in ritzy food in SIN, because they can get it at home... some of us don't get to stay at the Four Seasons or Ritz-Carlton on business too much (Fairfield Inn is more like it), so ritzy food is a change of pace
, so we may have a small group, but we are still going to Brunch on Sunday at the Four Seasons. So far two people: Raven 1 and PETEFLYS have mailed me with interest for the brunch. If anyone else is interested, please email me before Friday, US time.
I'm afraid we won't make drinks with the UA 881 arrivals on Sunday night, as we're also obliged to be at work on Monday and therefore leaving SIN on Monday morning.
