The English language sometimes can be taken two ways. For the record I meant to say:

To quote a very prolific Flyertalker, "post counts don't matter," so frankly, I don't see what all the fuss is about.... but thanks anyway

DITTO ... I wish we had the option to turn post count off.

Thanks all.
What makes this such a great community is the way we are able to keep in touch, and over the years meet one another. Posting here is more than just adding comments to a bulletin board. It is keeping in touch with friends and colleagues scattered all over this planet. On FT there are two such groups I feel a part of: those who share all fora and meet from time to time at events all over the globe, and that subgroup over on the AC forum, where we share another unique level of community. Both are great supports for those of us who spend so much time in the air, and everywhere but home.
Of course, this view is not shared by all, as an email I received yesterday suggests: "As i see it you have averaged 8 posts a day over the last 4 years. I thought about ignoring your comment respecting my Hilton buenos aires posting but upon reading some of your pompous remarks in the AC forum it is evident to me that this Board represents a disproportionate part of your life and evidently provides a convenient forum for some sense of misguided ego gratification. good luck to you!" Oh well...
I was hesitant about posting any further, as the palindrome of 10001 seemed so nice. But there is always 10101 to look at...
Safe travels all. See you some time, some place in the future... and of course, here on FT. [And thanks, Randy. Who'd have thought what the future held when you bought me that pint in London that weekend many years ago?]

I'm not quite in the same league as Shareholder, but I thought I'd share my own joy at making my 5000th post.
