Am "safe" here in Thailand - Samui to be exact.

Last nite, just before the tradgedy, I fell asleep early watching a movie in my room. Extensive cable here (HBO, Cinemax, CNN, BBC), yet when I was awoken later, my cable, and just my room's cable, would not work. Had to watch for just a bit last nite in another room. Still haven't seen any more coverage as my tv cable has yet to be fixed. Very strange.

Very few Americans, and especially American tourists, on this island in Thailand. Roadblocks went up last nite and my friend, an American, was told immediately what happened when he was stopped on his way home. That is who came right over and woke me up. Shocked.

Am scheduled to do a baht run but feel odd, maybe a little scared, about flying so much right now. To go home instead, into LAX, I hear, at this time, I would be diverted to Canada. Am waiting to see what happens next.

Am in shock, here in Samui, for everyone there in the U.S. My heart is there for all those affected.

Safe in Manila today. Many Filipinos are worried about family and friends in the US.

Carfield is safely in LA.

I am speechless, but hope that you are all doing well. My thoughts go to all those affected by this horrible event.

ChuckDEE safe and on the ground here in DFW.

As a side note to all of this, I drove out to DFW today just to see for myself one of the world's busiest airports with not a peep coming from it. It was surreal, almost post-apocoliptic. Not a sight that I want to see again. A lone UA 777 at the far end of the field just sitting there with it's doors open, and at the AA hangars dozens of aircraft parked wingtip to wingtip.

Truly a sad day for all of us... keep your heads up.

Safe in Chicago, and so are friends and family in NY. Originally from Brooklyn. Couldn't get through for hours.

It's been a sh*tty day at my newspaper.

Luckily, I only worked 11 hours today. But tomorrow I've been called in to start at 8 a.m., and finishing my other work around 8 or 9 p.m. Not that that's an issue. Just that it's going to be a brutal day.

Perhaps I've read too much wire copy today. I'm punk.

This is a war of ideas. We _can't_ give in.

later this morning, i'll take a jog along the shoreline and i won't recognize what i've always used to consider to be the most beautiful skyline in the world on a crisp fall day, there was nothing more magnificent than looking over from the brooklyn promenade

My thoughts and prayers go out to all the victims and their families.

With that same thought, I thank God that the White House wasn't a target, as my cousin goes to school right around the corner.

I think I'll go give blood.

In England at the moment. Devastated and incredulous. Thoughts and prayers for all the dead and wounded and those who grieve for them.

I'm safe and stuck out of town, but I'm in contact with family in NY.

I just took a tour to the WTC last Sunday, guided by my wife. She said that she used to sit underneath the towers in the evenings, as the lights lead to the sky and remind her of the opening sequence in "Star War".

My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families. In a sense, all of us are victims.
