Comic Convention eh? Maybe this the opportunity "SuperVillage Idiot" and the dim witted boy wonder "ChexFan Boy" have been waiting for!!! Finally, a way to get our message across to millions of people!!! I need a meeting setup with the president of Marvel comics!!!

Humm, we need more evil villains, Stephan Loves Starwood doesn't have a good enough maniacal laugh and Mileage Addict has gone into hiding after his defeat at the battle of InnPoints.

Move my name up to the Positively Maybe but a strong chance of backing out list please...

Thanks to SD1K for alerting me to this thread. Put me down on the maybe list. The airport tour sounds cool. (Thank goodness I don't work on Fridays.)

I do work on Fridays and would not be able to make it to either. D'oh!

But for all you fans I *have* had a tour of UA's ops at SAN, and that was wonderful. So I reckon a 3 hour tour ("... a 3 hour tour..." ) would be fantastic. Captain Mike you are wonderful!

Captain Mike, this sounds wonderful. Count me in, and I might be able to persuade my dear husband to come, too. He has yet to attend a FT event. I also look forward to meeting you later this month at the LA area FT event.

Here is a link to the hotel rates for the comic book convention:
http://www.comic-con.org/Pages3/2001hotel1.html

Each of the hotels have an allocation of rooms for the convention, and this is the way you can access those room blocks.

I'm happy to report that I can finally make my first FT event. Put me down as confirmed! I'll be flying in from Houston on Friday afternoon (not early enough for the airport tour, but can make an evening activity) and returning on Sunday morning. I'm looking forward to seeing you all!

I was ready to push the button on an American Airlines fare of $222.50 between BWI and SAN that would have yielded 7500 bonus miles. But just in time I remembered my sisters wedding on July 21. I sure would have loved to be there. San Diego is a long time favorite city of mine.

I hope you all have a great time.

Jay

OK Captain Mike, on your advice I booked a room at the SD Marriot Suites Downtown at Symphony Towers for Saturday night. (I can't fly in until then, but I'll try to be early.) I won't have a car, so I hope this location works for getting to/from planned meals or activities without incurring the national debt in cab fare. On Sunday I will move out to Loews Coronado for three more nights, but I figure I can go back to the airport and take the Cloud Nine shuttle from there. I've used them in the past, and they've worked fine.
