Well, if Punki's going to be there I'm not!! Just kidding, but once again, work has gotten in the way of fun, and I can't make it after all. I am bummed, believe me. If anyone was looking for an award room, I gave up my reservation at the Marriott Suites and you just might be able to grab it.

Oh Paula, you made me so sad. The biggest reason I was coming was to see you.
We'll just have to drive down to Olympia and have lunch some Sunday afternoon. Otherwise, we'll see you in France.

Hi everone!
I've only just discovered FT in the past few weeks. My hubby is the road warrior but I manage all the frequent flyer accounts for him. He should be in town July 20th. And lucky us.....we live in San Diego. Is is too late to reserve a spot for the weekend fun?

FWIW, Fares into SAN dropped, thanks to a new Southwest special. At the moment, NW has $158RT BWI--SAN, RDU--SAN, and MCO--SAN. Most other city pairs are $198. I know I'm preaching to the choir, though. :P Just a heads up.
Yeah, you'll see I'm in SAN now...
I'm still sitting on the fence, but I can probably easily be pushed onto one side.

Airfares just dropped to SAN from IND. I have been searching and searching the last week or so and finding: Thursday 07/19/01 - Sunday 07/22/01 for about $354++.
1. I have a certificate from HP when I
complained for $75 off if between $299.00 - $398.00 BUT then I'd find $317.00 on the website and when I would call the reservation desk they could only pull up $390.00.
2. Then tonight I did a quick check and all airlines except US showing around $250+. The website for HP matched what the reservation desk had so I got $262.00 roundtrip and then $50.00 off with a aircheckplus!

IMPORTANT SCHEDULE CHANGE FOR SAN GATHERING:
I visited Lindbergh Field today and toured both the airport and the control tower to finalize arrangements. While at the tower, I was informed that changes in their staffing schedules prevents us from visiting on Saturday. Rather than just scratch this event, I will be working with the airport tour person to hold both tours Friday afternoon. Exact arrangements will soon be in place, but I need to let people know now that THE SATURDAY CONTROL TOWER TOUR WILL DEFINITELY BE MOVED TO FRIDAY AFTERNOON, and will occur as a part of the main airport tour. I apologize sincerely to those of you who will not arrive until Friday night or Saturday morning and were counting on the tower tour on Saturday, but sometimes these things happen. This was not my choice. I don't know whether anyone will need to change their travel plans because of this. If so, I apologize again.
I am taking the liberty of posting this change here as well as starting a new thread in FT Community to try to catch everyone's attention.

Glad you will be joining us, Punki! Please e-mail me or post here if you need sd1K's mailing address, since the Saturday night dinner does need to be pre-paid.
See you later this month!

Since the control tower tour has been rescheduled, and there is nothing else to do on Saturday morning, I propose that after sleeping in and having a leisurely breakfast that we organize a Negotiate markbach's release from the Mexican Authorities Expedition!!!
We'll all tuck a few pesos here and there on our person, so that as the negotiations progress we can little by little raise the necessary cash to assure markbach's ultimate return to the Estados Unidios, just in time for the big dinner. This will be a great opportunity to practice the Espaol you studied in school!
This'll be real fun, participate in international negotiations, make payoff's to the authorities (Remember that you never pay the authorities to break the law, you are just supplementing the inadequate salary he receives from his government)
