OldGold: ROTFL. Sorry, my pesos are depleted. Will try to print more soon. Hope authorities don't notice flaws. Hope they blame Mark if they do. Hope for the best.

"Service" should be a noun, not a verb.

Just a suggestion for Sunday afternoon: Padres play Milwaukee at 2 p.m.; Ponies are running at Del Mar Racetrack - also at 2 p.m. We could probably get enough car pools together for anyone who wanted to get up to Del Mar - only a 15 minute drive.

My 1st segment out of Germany did not clear - meaning I will not be able to attend the FT meeting... - and the flights are so full that I do not even give standby a chance.
Hopefully the next time...

Linnyjune2:

Excellent suggestions for Sunday! Some folks are leaving on Sunday, but those are two great choices for anyone fortunate enough to be staying.

rcs85551:

Sorry you won't be able to join us. Darn! As you say, maybe next time!

Looks like things have come together for me to attend the SAN meeting, so put me down as confirmed, please. I've emailed SD1K regarding pre-paying for Saturday's dinner, I have a room through Priceline near the Marina, and I am really looking forward to this!

Old Gold, put me down for the rescue party. I'm picturing us wearing our "Sootkase Tags" instead of dog tags as ID as we embark on our mission. Guess I better start brushing up on my Spanish. "Tiene usted dolor?" (Do you have any pain?) is about all I remember from my Spanish for Medical Professionals class 20 years ago. Apparently learning the Spanish for "May I contribute to your personal pension fund?" would be a lot more helpful in this case. I'll start working on it!

Wish I could join the festivities. Just came back from a 3 day vacation in SAN. What a view of the fireworks in the harbor! I have two drink coupons to give away for the bar at the Harbor Island/Airport Hilton. Details at
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum...ML/003663.html
but thought this might be a good thread to see if any of you can put them to good use.

REMINDER: All checks for the Saturday night dinner are due to Carol (sd1k) by this Friday. We MUST have an accurate advance count for the restaurant, as they CANNOT accommodate a large number of extra people just "showing up", even with money in hand. Get your check in the mail NOW!

Because markbach is tardy in updating the website, I am arriving @ 10:30a on the 21st, staying at the Airport Hilton and then departing @ 8a on the 22nd.

ADDITIONAL REMINDER: There is a strict maximum of 35 for the airport/control tower tour. At this moment, I have received RSVP responses from fewer than 20 people, while nearly three times that have indicated they are coming to SAN!

There are many security procedures that must be followed for both the airport and tower tours. These are separate and distinct, and involve sign in, getting a badge, and so on. You CANNOT just "show up" and visit these places! IF YOU HAVE NOT INDICATED YOUR INTENTIONS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE TOURS BY THIS FRIDAY, JULY 13TH, YOU RISK BEING DENIED ACCESS TO THEM. Post here, send me an e-mail, or visit <http://sandiego.markbach.com/rsvp.php> (note no "www") and indicate your intentions!!!

Final counts will be tallied this weekend, and that's it, folks. No more allowed!

My plans for the weekend are to go to the Friday night dinner at Rock Bottom, then the harbor cruise Sat. afternoon, then dinner at Prado Sat. night. I won't be there in time for the SAN tours on Friday. I'm arriving late Friday afternoon and leaving Sunday morning.

I am putting a check in the mail to SD1K tomorrow for the Prado dinner.

I am happy to report, that an Hawaiian shirt is 'dress up' for the summer, day or nite.
