Definitely put train. If you put in bike, they may not allow you to taste test. Not sure about the walk part, but if you're drunk enough, then I suppose it's relevant.

Japan is very specific with liquor tastings it seems. Even at Costco!

Sunday seems best to avoid conflicts with other Do activities ... although 10K is a bit out of league.

What do others think?

I'm not a baseball expert myself, but it seems that some of the mid-categories are of good value.

The +1 is keen on going to a game, although we are booked at Fushioukaku on Sunday night so something has to give somewhere. It's her birthday that day so she's the boss. Probably going to be in one of the cheaper seats as we aren't that into the ball game but just want to be part of the crowd.

Sumo tickets

Information on buying sumo tickets in English may be found here. Tickets go on sale on Sunday, 7th February at 10am. There is a service fee of 1000 yen per ticket.

I have not been able to find any site in English where you can book baseball tickets directly for the Tigers matches. The site I mentioned earlier charges a handling fee of $60 per order. So it makes sense to order tickets as a group if anyone is contemplating using their service.

You think you'll be at the Do this year? Or are you just going to the distillery?

Anyone interested in a day trip to Kanazawa? It's about 2.5 hours away by train.

Not for me this time, but the Thunderbird is a pretty comfy train. It's an expensive ride without a train pass though.

Maybe i can sneak you inside my backpack??? Or maybe I can tell them that you are my translator? I say you come anyways and if they say no, then enjoy the free tour of the Whiskey Museum. How often does one get to go to the Duff Brewery, er I mean the Suntory Yamazaki Distillery?
