Just arrived. Does my "first to arrive" status still hold true?

Dreamliner tours at National?

Does anybody know if we can get a look inside the 787 that just landed at National?

UPDATE - According to a comment on the WashPo story on this, the Boeing website says there will be no public tours.

Too bad, would have been a good excuse to gather at DCA for food and a tour.

Well, for $195, you can attend a black-tie dinner that includes a look at the 787.

Yep. It's there for the NAA award dinner.

Since they did press tours and tours for other aviation organizations, it might have been possible for something to have been arranged had we known in advance.

I got to see it fly the approach down the river out my office window. Very impressive.

It's sitting in front of the viewing area of the old terminal (Terminal A). You can go see it from outside of security. I was at Terminal B today and went to the last gate (United) and got only a short glimpse. Otherwise, you can see it while taxiing.

Just posted pictures from before/after my Delta Shuttle flights today (here).

At least in theory.

I tried yesterday and discovered that a "private event" was preventing access to that area (there were even black drapes up at each entrance to the viewing area, though you could see a little through gaps). I believe there's another special event tonight. I'm going to try to make my way there tomorrow morning with the hope that there's no event at 7:30 in the morning.

I just checked this field and found out I missed a get together. Any plans for later this month? I'm rappelling down the side of the Hilton Crystal City if people want to meet over there for drinks on June 22nd.

Someone let a brother know when the next affair is.
