They've also released their new Coastals. I'm checking to see if we can get the same rates (or better) on the Island Princess, same itinerary, leaving San Francisco on 14 May. (Basically, they've swapped the 2-night and 4-night itineraties.)

I'll upate the first posts with this new cruise.

So far, it's not looking good for that (see my prediction in Post #59). The rates I've gotten from our current agent have a cheaper Inside cabin, but Outside cabins and Mini-suites are more expensive, and no onboard credit. I'm getting quotes from additional agents to see if they have more pull with Princess for lower rates. If they're not significantly cheaper, I'd like to stick with our current agent because he's done a good job for us so far.

The effective net changes, including the loss of OBC, are

Inside - net decrease of $30.50 per person
Outside - net increase of $61.47 per cabin
Mini-suite - net increase of $78.97 per person

good luck then. though staying with the current agent is fair enough. bummer about the OBC. not a deal breaker as that is how things turn out sometimes.

I've updated the web site with the new rates - they're actually quite good in my opinion, even without the onboard credit. I'll put the booking form up there as soon as I get it from the agent.

If you previously booked, the old agent will be canceling and refunding those. For people using referral credits, we'll make sure those get credited for the new sailing.

And now that we have the new rates and everyone should have good information, I'll reopen posts #2 and #3 for interest in the new itinerary.

Thanks again for all you work and the new lower prices do indeed offset any OBC. ^

The new prices are great and the itinerary is nicely similar. Lacking the OBC is fine as I expect to spend less this way as I tend not to spend outside the included items and necessary charges (gratuity). Great work, mahasamatman! Count me in. I await the booking form.

The form says "Balcony cabin (--) $---- double occupancy ($---- per person)". Does that imply both me and my travel partner must pay either the a.i. fare or the deposit as 1 payment?

Since I can't find the previous form with the (former?) booking agents' contact, I ask by which date should we expect the deposits to be refunded. I just checked my credit card which has yet to receive the refund.

I added the per-person rate just to make it easier for people to see what it was. The deposit shown on the web site is per-person, and two deposits must be placed on each cabin. Basically, you need to put 20% down. If you're sending in separate forms, be sure to indicate who you will be staying with. Full payment is not required until 13 February 2011 (I'll add that to the site).

I checked my credit card this morning and didn't see a refund either. I talked to him last week and he said he'd cancel everything and refund. I just sent him another email.
