Cruise Do May 2011

Note: Update with new cruise schedule

We had a great time on the 2008 Cruise Do, so we figured it's time to start thinking about another one. For this one, I've been looking at short coastal weekend cruises from San Francisco to Vancouver next May, and I think there is one that could make an ideal Cruise Do. I'm working with a travel agent on group pricing, so don't book yet!

4 nights Island Princess
14 May - depart San Francisco 16:00
15 May - at sea
16 May - Astoria Oregon (10 hours)
17 May - Victoria (16 hours)
18 May - arrive Vancouver 07:30

If it's your first Princess cruise, please let me know and I'll get you a referral that will give you $25 off per person.

You can get all the info on the web site. The booking form should be up shortly.

I love the planning ahead, totally my style. I vote option 1, but 2 is also doable. The idea is great, so keep us posted!

I would be interested in Option 2, the longer the better. Arriving Vancouver on the 23rd gives a perfect window to make OzFest from YVR.

How is the single supplement on Princess for these repositioning sailings?

I think you typically end up paying for both people, though only one set of taxes. Of course, you also get double cruise credit toward Captain's Circle status, so I have considered doing it for one-night cruises. However, we'll see what I can negotiate.

I love the idea! I've never been cruising before but Mrs. Bruin and I are looking for a fun one to try.

I don't have a preference for dates since I hardly know what I'm doing May 2010 let alone May 2011!

I'll vote for the four-night DO so long as it doesn't conflict with a late-spring transatlantic repositioning cruise opportunity. Gotta love those 14-nighters. While you're working on Princess for first-timer discounts, squeeze them for some good perks for those of us who have already spent more than 100 nights on their Love Boats.

Yup, please accept my vote for option #2 for the 4 nights as 2 nights seems just way too quick. At least with 4 nights I can go a couple nights pre-cruise to SFO and make a week holiday out of it.

I'm not sure about other cruise lines, but the only long cruise on Princess' schedule for that time is the Fort Lauderdale-Vancouver cruise. And the cruise I proposed above is the last four days of that one.

I knew someone here would be crazier than us. We only have 44 nights on Princess so far (though 35 of them were in the past 9 months). I still need to figure out what all the benefits of the group are.

I'm sure we could work out a pre-Do, too.

We enjoyed the '08 Cruise Do. I vote either.
