Damn man, no wonder your so frustrated. You know everything and don't listen to anybody. Have a nice flight, man.
Travel and experience it for yourself. Surely you're not basing your conclusions on what is printed in a three-ring binder and not on actual experiences?

TSAJohn: "The Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal often makes a good meal for visiting tourists."

Spiff: "Actually, that's a misprint, it should read The Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal often makes a good meal of visiting tourists."

TSAJohn: "The book says for so it must be true. Time to dine!"

Spiff:"Good luck!"

Why would you assume that I don't travel? Because I'm a poor little screener??? I have traveled numerous times since I've been a screener and many more times before that on US as well as International flights. I know it can be frustrating, but to tell you the truth, my biggest hassles have been with the airlines, not security. And by the way, even as a TSA screener, I've been chosen as a selectee before.

No, I assume you don't travel because I've posted several examples of my observations that you claim, according to SOP, don't exist. The only conclusion I can draw is that you are relying only on your binder to tell you what is happening at airports other than your own.

You may have misunderstood me earlier. I didn't say that other airports aren't doing their own thing. I was trying to say that not only do things differ from airport to airport, they also differ from lane to lane sometimes.

It clearly says in the SOP that FSD's cannot implement their own policies. So if they are straying from the SOP, they are wrong.

My airport (CVG) was ranked #1 in security and #2 in Customer service by USA Today, and we still don't have everybody on the same page. It doesn't mean that things aren't safe, it just means that things will be a little more frustrating for the passenger.

Have no fear though, training teams and alot of much needed remedial training are on the way.

I have not received any shoe harassment at CVG, so no complaints on that front. However, a few months ago, gate harassment was still being done at the Comair C concourse.

FSDs cannot change policy. However, they may interpret policy to the extent that they can exceed minimum SOP guidelines. The punk FSD at DEN clearly does so.

I guess I have some good and bad news for you.

1) Gate screening is dead at CVG.
2) Selectee screening is alive.

Too funny.

Of course, I know you didn't mean screeners, you meant Spiff, GradGirl et al, right?

If you've got something to say, rufus, let's hear it.

I just did, didn't I?

Be advised, not only do I have ZERO affiliation with TSA or anyone who has anything to do with it - but I think it's a joke.

However, that doesn't mean I don't think you and the rest the people here who seem to live for, and feed off TSA directed vitriole aren't going way overboard.

Maybe favorite from some other thread I got a few chuckles from: "I glared at him (TSA Agent) hatefully through clenched teeth".

Gee whiz - did he murder your family or ask you to take your laptop out of your bag?

Extremism in either direction is not helpful to anybody.

I wrote the above quote. If you had taken the time to read my post, you'd see that the man attempted to grab my purse forcefully out of my hands. I wouldn't stand for it on the subway, and I won't stand for it from a TSA thug. Taking things out of people's hands is thuggish behavior.

There we go with the thug comments again. Can you get your point across without namecalling. I mean, you are a "GradGirl." I could think of a few names for you, but I'll keep them to myself.

I thought we had agreed that namecalling en masse, like all TSA employees are thugs, was not okay, but that individually, calling a spade a spade was okay. I was clearly referring to an individual man who behaved in a way that another screener on this board called an assault.

How quaint.

Wrong, but quaint.

GradGirl - you quite clearly miss my point and equally clearly will never see it, but I will express it once more, for clarity and context.

You are so militant in your opinions towards TSA that no amount of reasonable action is tolerable to you. It is not reasonable to "glare hatefully through clenched teeth" at the TSA agent who is grabbing your purse. He's not a subway thief, he is a security agent. You seriously need to take a deep breath before you completely lose control and end up doing something you'll regret.

Exactly. If GradGirl loses her cool and gets a Law Enforcement Officer called on her, she's bound to be on the SSSS list for good.

We had an English guy threaten a Supervisor's life once. He missed his flight and was blocked from all flights. Too bad for him because he had to get back to England. I hope his VISA wasn't about to run out.
