As I was going through security this morning at LAX T7, I saw one of the TSA boarding pass checkers holding a picture printout of her, and he then put it in the podium he was sitting at. I guess they distributed pictures today and are all now on the lookout for her.

I don't understand. Why don't they just put her on the national Do Not Fly list? Wouldn't that keep her out the sterile area?

Has anyone seen any indication of how this crazy lady gets past 1) the elite TSO corps of Travel Document Checkers and Behavioral Detection Orificers, and 2) the WN gate agents (whom I will not ridicule because most of them are reasonably intelligent and acceptably competent) who are supposed to scan each passenger's BP before admitting them to the jet bridge?

I could understand her printing a phony BP that would get her past TSA. Heck, I could do that in about ten minutes with Photoshop Elements. But how could she get past the GA, who actually scans the BP's barcode? Is that barcode not checked for validity when it's scanned? Or does the machine simply record the barcode without actually comparing it to the WN booking system?

It's another "layer of security". Yet my boarding pass, which was obviously printed at the airport, is scrutinized closer than someone trying to determine if a Picasso is fake.

I would suspect they are trying or have figured out how she got as far as she did. I'd also suspect that they might not be too forthcoming with the details as it would be potentially embarrassing and would show how it could be done.

I suspect if they knew how she was doing it, TSA and/or the airlines would have some new procedures in place at all airports and we would be hearing about them from our many frequent travelers.

That's true unless there was something wrong or a procedure not followed at that and only that location. I travelled just this week after she pulled this off and noticed nothing particularly or especially different. My observations before and now are the same, at least at SAT it would be difficult to do but our checkpoints are relatively small and therefore easier to control. I won't say it's impossible but I've seen people turned away who didn't have their boarding passes or proper ID on a consistent basis. Again, not saying somebody hasn't talked their way through or somehow gotten lost in the crowd and slipped through but at least locally that would be, as it should be, difficult.

You saw her? You heard what happened at airport? How? You have make sure no one go through security without ticket. She had too many trespass warnings. She cannot go to airport anymore. She have to stop. Make her stop! LAX Police, TSA and airlines agent are watching her. Do not let her go through security to boards a flight. She had to leave. She have to stop sneaking past at security or anywhere else. If you see her and they will be notify the police immediately. They will escorted her out of terminal.

Well, Guys,

She is going to stay in jail for a least 177 days. She ordered to stay away from airport property. If she done it again. She could spend more jail times. It's very serious. She had too many trespass warnings.

She won't be back at airport property again. TSA will put her on "No-Fly" list. She won't be back at airports again. TSA, LEO, Airport Employees, and Airlines Employees are watching her. If you see her and you notify the police immediately. She will be arrested again. Be aware of her. Keep her out of airport property.

A few years ago, I accidentally gave the GA the boarding pass for the flight I took on the same airline on the same route a couple of weeks before. The scanner accepted it. Perhaps they checked only for the destination.

Anybody want to take a bet she'll be back at the airport right after she gets out? Despite the comments and contention from officials that she's mentally sound I have my doubts.

I had never wondered about that until this thread. I always foolishly assumed that the whole reason a BP's barcode was scanned at the gate was to be sure that only pax who are actually ticketed for that particular flight boarded that particular flight. The funny, usually embarrassing stories of people getting on the wrong plane and winding up in New York while their family goes to Miami seem far less likely if the BP scanner goes nerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrp instead of badinggggggg, prompting a visual review of the BP. It also seems that stowaways, even on less than full flights, would be less likely in that case, so I can't imagine why airlines wouldn't invest in such a system as a form of revenue protection.

Besides, in this post-9/11 era of paranoia, fear, and xenophobia, it's a bit odd that the airline systems don't track individuals as they board in the same way that they track checked bags.

it's not about the money.... they love the thrill of getting away with something illegal. a lot of rich millionaires steal from high-end department stores. Many years ago, I worked at Neiman Marcus and spotted a woman stealing a $200 scarf. She drove her Bentley to the mall and used valet parking. It turned out that she was filthy rich(100-million+ or something). I'm sure she had no financial reason to steal a $200 scarf.

If she's so good at sneaking into places, perhaps she can sneak out of jail?
