Angry Chase Continental CC bonus problems

I signed up for the Chase Continental credit card in May 2004. On the one year anniversary I was supposed to receive President's Club passes and travel discount certificates. I let the requisite 8-10 weeks pass and still received nothing. I started calling in September and had referrals put in on my problem. I've now probably called about five times if not more, spoken to several supervisors, and still have gotten nowhere. I've been told further referrals were put in, that I would receive letters with the bonuses or telling me when the bonuses would arrive. I haven't even received those letters. I've had supervisors tell me they were going to find out more and call me back. No one has called back. (I've got another one of these callbacks pending now.)

So the one year was in May and here we are, almost in December. I'm really really aggravated with this, especially because I travel on Continental a lot and have already had opportunities when those bonuses could have been used.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions on what to do?

I would send a letter to the main office about the problems you are having. You can use www.planetfeedback.com and send an email to the corporate offices. They usually respond within 10 days.

I had the Continental World Mastercard from Chase and cancelled because I never got the bonus material at the end of my first year. I just decided to steer my business away from Chase since I don't have the time to dispute the bonus material even though it was clearly mentioned when I signed up for the card.

Sorry, I went to the Web site but it didn't recognize the company. Do you know what contact information I use? Is it just the general offices for Chase credit cards?

Yes, the general offices will get your letter to the right individual.

So how do you search for the company ? Citibank for Citicards ? JP Morgan Chase for Chase card ?

I currently have an issue with Citi Dividend Reward Card on a replacement of Dividend Dollar Check. I have sent them both e-mails on Citi's secured site as well as a letter via snail mail. I got some tentative response from the e-mail, but nothing from snail mail sent on 11/20.

In the upper right hand corner under write a letter, select complaint, then enter Chase. At the next page, select Chase Manhatten. That should get you where you need to be.

This exact thing happened to me. I wrote, I called, I e-mailed. I got the name, date, and time of each inquiry and referred to them on subsequent inquiries. The one year anniv. came up to renew the card, still no goodies, and I called and closed the account and told them this was why. 2 weeks later here came the freebies promised to me 6 months earlier along with 2 extra discount certs good until Dec. 2006 for my troubles. Turns out the $99 companion cert does not apply to int'l travel-it's unlikely I'd ever spend more than $298 on a coach ticket to anywhere in the lower 48 to get the $99 companion fare. At least I got the 2 Pres Club passes which I plan to use this weekend enroute to Quito and back through Houston.
I was using the Diners Club MC to be able to transfer points into CO but now Diners is dropping CO. I hate to get another Chase CO card cuz of their crappy customer service. I have to pick an airline MC to have for those places that don't take Am Ex but there aren't many choices.

Angry

So after something like 15 calls, I called again tonight, and now this person is telling me I didn't pay my annual fee after I signed up for the card last year. For one, thing I don't believe it. But secondly, why would it take that many calls before anyone even mentioned such a thing??

Can anyone tell me - doesn't that fee automatically show up on a statement sometime after you sign up for the card? Or was there a separate bill sent? I have paid every statement on time and am pretty sure I remember the $85 fee from last year (as well as this year). If for some reason it was the case that I didn't pay it, wouldn't it be their fault for not having charged me the fee??

I am thinking strongly of closing my account. But am annoyed that if I do, I already paid that $85 for this year.
