Chase's benefit terms include this misleading sentence:
Ultimate Rewards points are earned on The Edit stays. The exclusion applies only to $250 directly offset by the credit.
Any amount above $250 charged to your CSR earns 8x points.
You can split the payment for Edit bookings between cash and points - you can charge $250 to your CSR to get The Edit credit and cover the remaining balance with UR points at a rate of somewhere between 1.6 and 2 cpp. No points are earned when payment is done this way.
Any purchases that qualify for the $500 Credit for stays with The Edit will not earn points.

...........if you rebook you have to wait for the cancellation transaction “posted” (not while still pending) to your credit card before rebooking to get the Edit credit (you don’t have to wait for the credit meter refresh which is usually one day behind). The Edit $250 credit is tied to your posted credit card transaction. I rebooked while the cancellation is still pending and the $250 was not credited to the new booking so I had to redo it and thankfully the rate actually dropped in the meantime.

I am curious, when did you cancel the reservation?

This is the reverse of the reservation posted on Nov 22.

This is when the Edit Credit was reverted back to my account (I printed this on Nov 23, and my meter read 0 at the time when I printed this).

This is the credit meter on Nov 24 reflecting the date of the Edit credit reverted back on Nov 23. My credit meter was 0 when I looked at it on Nov 23 (which is why I said it refreshes one day later).

I am now curious, I am not sure if you want to send me a PM with the pic.

This is how my benefit meter looks like now (Dec 26). The as of dates were the dates when I used the credits

This is my DP, but I did cancel an Edit booking while it was still pending and then immediately booked a different Edit property. I did not have any issues with my Edit credit.

Ok, so trying to go back through a few points and seeing how I can change a hotel booked through the edit for an upcoming trip (in Feb.) Planning with BIL, who just decided wants to stay at Westin Anaheim vs. the JW Marriott, the latter of which I have booked via Edit. Westin is also an edit hotel.
My understanding from above is that if I cancel JW, I need to wait for edit credit to post (or at least be pending) before I can re-book with Westin to use the 2025 credit. I did use points as well for part of the JW booking on Dec. 22, so I'm guessing I'm out the point adjustment to $.02 from $.0165, which is probably just moot if I make this change.
I guess my questions are:

I guess my questions are:
- I can not book Westin, then cancel JW, then just have the credit remain in place through this (I'm used to Amex FHR/THC, where this seems to be SOP if you re-book during the same credit period)? Any chance if I do this, Chase would manually apply the credit back in instead - not sure if there are DPs on this?
- Instead, I have to wait for Edit credit to come back on my online transactions - do I have to wait for it to be posted or can I do it when the credit is pending?
- How long should this process take - between canceling a booking, having the charge reversed and then the credit reversed? My concern is on timing, given how close we are to the end of the year, and if this is even feasible to work at this point.
- If the new booking is made before the new year, with the charge pending, but the charge does not post until after the new year, which year will the credit be used for? Any chance this biased on the original purchase date vs. the cleared date?
- If the latter, any chance Chase might be willing to manually 'adjust' the credit based on the purchase date? I realize answers are probably speculative since this is the first period the edit credit has been available, but trying to assess chances.

Being that it's the end of the year and time is of essence, what I would personally do is book again now and then cancel the original booking. This way the Edit credit may not be reversed at all and also your new booking charge will for sure post still in 2025 so that in the case that the 2025 credit is reversed and for some reason not reapplied to the 2025 booking you have a leg to stand on in getting them to honor the credit. I would not wait until the last day or two of December because then the transaction may not post until 1/1 and will then use the 2026 credit which isn't what you want. It happened to me with the CSR Biz and the first half year credit - I made a booking on 6/30 but it posted as 7/1 and used the second half year credit and they wouldn't budge on giving me the first half year credit even though I talked myself blue in the face and sent them my email confirmation dated 6/30 etc.
I hope it works out for you both. Good luck.

Neither. The charge posted on 12/29 (today) with a transaction date of 12/27. It was booked on 12/26 after I noticed that the $250 EDIT credit meter had been reset. It is not unusual for the transaction date to be the day after booking.
