How does the Edit credit work if you cancel your stay? I assume they claw back the credit, but are you then able to get the credit again for a new booking or do you just lose it?

You don't lose it

I just booked the Hotel Urso in Madrid over xmas. It is apparently a Hyatt Mr & Mrs Smith hotel. When I tried to book directly with the hotel it said it wasn't available for my dates. Interestingly, the Hyatt website said that the Edit-style World of Hyatt benefits (breakfast, late checkout, etc) are not available at Mr & Mrs Smith hotels. We will see what we get when we check in!

You get Edit benefits specified at the time of booking.

You don't get Hyatt points and EQN when not booking Mr & Mrs Smith hotels through Hyatt.

Anyone know what is going on with Hyatt hotels/resorts through The Edit? I can't find any availability at Hyatt Regency Coconut Point or Grand Hyatt Indian Wells on any dates through the Edit. Both are wide open on same dates through Hyatt & Amex. I picked a few random resorts (Andaz Maui and HR Maui) to check and had the same result "sold out". Any thoughts?

Do the Edit stays accrue Hyatt nights and points?

I am looking to use my Chase the Edit credit but have some issues.

1. I was looking for Park Hyatt KL, Seoul and Tokyo for 2026 but they are not showing up as the Edit hotel. I then do a search on the Edit for Park Hyatt Seoul, it is showing up as sold out on multiple days. Park Hyatt KL is not even on the portal. Someone mentioned on the Park Hyatt Seoul site that he was able to book Andaz Singapore and Tokyo, they are now showing as sold out on multiple days as well. I have also found the Chase Travel portal very annoying to use.

2. The Chase Edit credit can only be used on "Pay Now" options and it said it will not accrue points. I assume it is Chase points. But it is not clear whether you will receive Hyatt night stay and Hyatt points credit. Does anyone have information about this?

The answer is pretty clear.

It does not accrue Chase points on the $250 credit. It will accrue on whatever portion you pay in cash. For example, if your Edit hotel cost $1250 and you prepay all $1250 and receive a $250 credit, you will receive Chase points on $1000 of the spend. If you book, for example, a WOH hotel and it is WOH eligible, you will also receive WOH points on your eligible spend. However, I'm not sure what will be counted as eligible spend. When I link my Edit booking to my WOH account, the rate shows as "confidential". It will be interesting to see what the eligible rate is considered after checkout and to see if it's different from what it would have been booking through say, Prive, instead.

Yes DC is a more expensive city. That's true regardless of whether you have an Edit benefit or not.

DC and suburbs have plenty of hotels in the $200/nt range - just not on Edit (Amex has many more options). If you can find low priced Edit hotels they are always undesirable locations. DC has plenty of high priced $500+ hotels but I don't pay cash for those properties (even with the discount)

The Edit seems like a nice marketing campaign for high end hotels to fill beds by offering minor unpublished discounts. Which is strange as the high end properties already have high occupancy rates. Far be it for Chase to offer the credits for lower priced properties (as Amex does) when it might cost them some real $$.

I understand the not accruing chase point part, same deal with travel credit. But how do i know if it is WOH eligible for both night stay and points? Shouldn’t it be like Amex if you book through FHR then you are eligible for WOH stay? Or do they say on the booking that it is eligible?

Yes, they do. Did you bother looking at the screenshot in post 187 that answered your question just above?

I was too excited reading Clemson's post on my phone and missed the earlier one. But it doesn't matter, none of the Park Hyatt I am interested in are bookable through the Edit for now.

Well the knowledge of where to look is generalizable to all hotels, even if they are not on the Edit list.

I would make sure you screen capture that it does say WOH eligible for the Edit Hotels you book, just in case there's a dispute about the EQN. When I called the Globalist line a few months ago regarding FHR, I asked about how the Edit hotels code and if Hyatt does consider them eligible. The representative had no idea what an Edit hotel was and couldn't find it on their "eligible rates" list. They had FHR and Prive / corporate rates on that list, but the Edit hotel was not on it. They referred me to Chase for that question. So as people book and connect the reservations to their WOH, datapoints would be great about if the Edit bookings are solid for EQNs.

I haven't booked a Hyatt hotel this year for the Edit credit, but will for next year. Just be prepared for some hiccups if WOH/Edit bookings are wonky.

I think there is some kind of problem with Hyatt inventory in the Chase system at the moment. At least for me multiple Hyatt properties are all showing "sold out" on every date I try even though availability is wide open through Hyatt and elsewhere. I'm hoping its a temporary issue.
