Heh, yeah, not a big deal. I guess I'll use Apple Pay when I see the option just in case. I really do like using it from my Apple Watch, just press the side button a couple of times and I'm done

That CPC angle died probably 10 months ago unfortunately.

CPC is actually their mass-market lower tier option now. It's CPC < PCD < JPMPB now.

What does PCD stand for and what assets do you need for this level?

Are these two statements correct?

Before the JPM Reserve:

Being a CPC member, automatically got you a Palladium?

All Palladium cards were converted to JPM Reserve cards?

No being CPC did not automatically get you a palladium and no not all palladiums were converted you can have both if you already had the Palladium pre Reserve launch though that was not the intended course of action when it first was being released.

The article also references 'single-digit millionaires' which would suggest you need $1M to get an invite to PCD. It's still a little unclear to me, but I have a better idea now, thanks!

I think the article is confusing criteria for PCD with CPC; hence the mixed messages.

I think this conversation is supposed to be about the JP Morgan Reserve Card, and not the banking product, but let me chime in. Learned about the Private Client Direct program a few months ago from my banking team. Basically it shouldn’t affect the majority here as I heard less than 5% of current clients would be transitioned to that team. And it’s not going to be a cold transition, it would be a slow hands on process, and most clients would still be able to elect who they want to work with based on previous interaction and investment strategy, so while it may become less exclusive, it’s not a significant “downgrade” that the affected would really feel. In fact it would still be more hands on than MLWM. Most of the people who would be transitioned to that group are biglaw attorneys, corporate dentistry, hospital group physicians, salaried professionals who have investment needs less varied compared to tech and energy clients who invest for a living. Instead of reading online articles I would suggest emailing them directly through their website, or visiting a physical branch if you live in a big city where they have one. I am in San Francisco, and the entry minimum has and always has been set at $5 million in investable assets. PCD is a group that is still under the JPM Private Bank umbrella. It’s not open to new clients, but rather it is for existing clients. Hope this helps!

What, specifically, makes JPM Reserve more appealing to you than Sapphire Reserve?

There are very few features which differentiate JPM Reserve from Sapphire Reserve. What could be removed from the JPM feature set to produce a card that would still be perceived as better than Sapphire Reserve?

Little to none. The bank has a portfolio of cards that basically covers every corner of the market that is important to them. There may be adjustments to the existing products though.

The only things JPM Reserve has additional to the Sapphire Reserve is United Club, hidden trade line, more attractive card, no cash advance and late fees, in that order of importance.

No cash advance and late fees is useless to everyone here, but yeah, its good to know.
