What is the best current offer?
What is the best current offer?
A. Beginning April 14, 2022, the public offer has been increased to 80,000 Bonus Points After You Spend $4,000 On Purchases In The First 3 Months From Account Opening. Annual fee [$95] is not waived. This offer is now publicly available. Based on some datapoints, it may be possible to get this offer at your local Chase branch with a one year waiver of the annual fee.
For any CSP offer, be sure to check the pricing details before applying. Normally, the annual fee for the CSP for year 2 and later is $95; however, in mid-2014 and then again more recently, Chase began randomly changing the pricing for some visits to the pages above, with AF as high as $150. If you get a page with that higher pricing, try reloading the page.

Q. Can I apply for this card and earn the bonus after doing so previously?
A. This card is subject to the Chase 5/24 policy. For details, see the wiki and related discussion in Applying for Chase Credit Cards, 2017 onward.
As of August 2018, all Chase Sapphire cards are subject to an additional restriction:
The product is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card who received a new cardmember bonus within the last 48 months.
Q. I'm an authorized user for a card issued to my spouse/parent. Does that prevent me from signing up for the same card and earning a bonus?
A. No, being an authorized user does not prevent you from obtaining your own card / bonus.
Q. I just met the spend requirement. When will I receive my signup bonus points?
A. In most cases, your bonus will be credited after the close of the monthly billing cycle in which you meet the spend requirement. (Chase never posts signup bonuses mid-cycle.)
However, owing to a quirk in Chase's system, bonuses associated with charges incurred in the last ~7 days of a billing period may not post until the end of the following billing period. This is true even if the charges appear on your current statement and generate the standard number of points per dollar spent.
Thus, if you meet your bonus spend threshold late in your billing cycle, you may not receive the corresponding signup bonus until the following month. Calling Chase to complain will not change this, so be patient and enjoy your points when they finally appear.
Q. What's the value of a UR point? What are the best redemption options?
A. Because these questions are not specific to the Sapphire Preferred card, see discussion in the following separate threads:
Q. What are the benefits of this card other than UR points?
Benefits Guide https://www.chasebenefits.com/sapphirepreferred
A. See the discussion in Chase Sapphire Preferred Benefits Thread, especially the source documents referenced in the wiki.

For those interested in a pair of data points, I first submitted a secure mail to inquire about the new 50,000 points offer (my account is only a week and a half old) and authorized user offer which you can see the response to below. I then called the sapphire preferred line and spoke to a nice representative who told me that if I added an authorized user, she could forward a manual request to the marketing department for an adjustment in the amount of 5,000 points. While on the line with the rep I asked about the 50k points as well and was told they are not matching because of the new, higher annual fee on the other offer. My suggestion when calling in is to ask if there they would give you a good-will adjustment of some kind, even if they decline to honor the new bonus and/or authorized user incentive.

Sapphire Preferred : 55k points after $3k spend, but $125 fee after year 1.
Applied and approved, hope this offer is honored and I don't get the usual Amex runaround.

I think Chase has priced Sapphire Preferred too low versus American Express Premier Rewards Gold and Citi Premier. I expect $125 will become the annual fee for all Sapphire Preferred accounts, subject to regulations is the C.A.R.D. which may prevent raising the fee on the first renewal anniversary.
From other site, I have seen several people who used have Sapphire Visa before got approved and confirmed the sign up bonus. Although it is too early to say they are two different products, I can see some hope here.

I applied on 11/18 and I got the pending message. I called 11/19 in the morning and they verified SS# and mother's maiden name.....they asked to move credit line over to new account. I said it would be great!

Has anyone already with a CSP tried applying to see if it falls under the 'new product' designation?

I checked my records and researched online and here is what I found. I am sure there are ppl here in the same situation as me:
The Sapphire Preferred came first in mid 2009 and the bonus was 25K points. The card was VISA by default. 2 points for airfare only and not for restaurants. Without Chip. Lower annual fee.
Still thinking if I should try again. I closed the account in mid 2010. Same card, also Visa, slightly different benefits, and higher annual fee. What do you think?

Did you have have a CSP before? If so, please let us know if you get the bonus again, as this card has an annual fee of $125 vs $95 for the other CSP. So, I am hoping it is considered a different card.

I've had a CSP for over a year now. If I add an AU, will I get the 5K bonus?

Just called Chase to try to get more points, as I signed up for the standard 40,000 points after $3000 spend within the last 60 days.
The representative refused to add an extra 10,000 points to my account opening spending offer because she said this new offer had a $125 annual fee and was therefore considered a new product, and therefore the extra 10,000 points could not be applied to my $95 annual fee existing CSP.
I then asked her if that meant that this was a new product for which I could apply for and get the signup bonus again. She said that was correct (!!!!!) but that I could only have one CSP at a time, so I would need to cancel my current CSP before applying for this one.
She also agreed to add 5,000 points into my account for the adding an authorized user part of the new offer.
Very interesting call, to say the least...
