As of Oct 2019, offer is as follows:

  • $200 (20K UR points) for $500 spend in first 3 months.
  • No annual fees.
  • This is the best available offer since the past few years.
  • Public Application Link

What can I do with Chase Freedom Ultimate Rewards (UR) points?

  • Transfer them to a Chase Sapphire Preferred, Chase Sapphire Reserve, or Chase Ink Business UR points at 1:1. If you own one of those cards, this is probably the best option for you.
  • Redeem for cash back (statement credit or to a checking account), 1 cent per UR point. So, the 20K UR points for signing up will get you $200 cash back. This is generally the default option if you do not own a Sapphire or Ink card.
  • Redeem them for various gift cards, or shop with points at Amazon.com (usually same value as cash back, eg. $25 for 2500 UR).
  • Book flights/hotels/car rental/activities through Ultimate Rewards, and pay in full or in part using points (1 cent per UR).

Can I apply for this card and earn the bonus after doing so previously?

yup, CS has the ability to match you to offers that expired within the last 90 days.

thats what I plan to do around the end of the 3 month mark after the offers expired for the IB/IP, since I couldnt get it during the small business week/month promo.

Good luck. I tried to do something similar several months ago and was told by 3 different CSRs that they will only match active offers within 90 days of your approval date. Let us know how it goes.

Yup, it was within 2 weeks of a public offer expiring (BA 100k). You're actually the first person I've heard on this forum claim that Chase will honor expired offers as a matter of policy. Curious to hear additional data points.

Update on Chase Freedom EMV

Called again today
1. Frontline CSR didn't have a clue
2. Asked to speak to supervisor, supervisor seemingly knew exactly what I was talking about and said that typically those cards go out in waves to customers, BUT since I told her I was "traveling" she said that "I can submit a special request for you to receive the card"
3. Gladly accepted and asked for express delivery
I will update here once I receive the card

Awesome. Let us know if you actually receive a Freedom with EMV chip.

Also - I didn't see this posted elsewhere - it appears as though Chase.com now shows the amount of points earned for each purchase on your Freedom (similar to CSP).

Doesn't this card have a forex fee?

So even if you have the chip, you wouldn't want to use in overseas locations?

The chip will come in handy eventually inside the US as well.
