but nobody knows at this stage when waitlist clears under new system.

So far I got few KIX waitlist cleared in 2-3 weeks time as a SL (for Economy and Buisness standard awards) on Jul 2018 for traveling on Aug 2018, which is around 1 month before departure.

It takes more effort fo find availability nowadays, let's see anything would change in few months time. Availiablity should still be very favourable to DM I guess?

Availability in Feb 2019 for MNL flights in J is very, very poor. Can't find any. Surprising given that I'm sure for MNL nobody has booked J redemption seats this far out. On flights I'm trying, the seatmap is totally empty. Yes, I know empty seatmap does not mean no bookings, but really how many J bookings exist without seat preassignments. A handful, maybe. Small percentage.

Beginning or end of Feb?
Beginning may be affected by Chinese New Year
End will be inexplicable

HKG-MNL 2 Feb
MNL-HKG 14 Feb

No availability on either.

I should mention that this is for upgrade booking, not even full redemption, still no availability!

It's equally as bad for DMs. In the past they have been quite helpful in opening up extra award availability to DMs if the lower fare classes are available for sale.
I've called in a couple of times for this flight below and they have always refused to open up economy standard award availability:
15 SEP 2018 CX139 HKG-SYD J9 C9 D9 I8 U0 W9 R6 E0 T0 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 G9 S9 N9 Q6 X0

I guess they would be more generous on releasing Economy standard seats, but how's the loading on those SYD flights in the past? 139 seems ideal for connecting passengers from Europe or America.

Anyone know whom I might get in touch with to get some kind of response around if the married segments issue is an IT related bug or a deliberate downgrade of the program for HK based members?

I'm getting
Error An error has occurred in our central database. Please contact us for further information. (4002 [102])
searching HKG-JFK/ORD on multiple dates. Calling Asia Miles routes me to a mailbox where I should leave a message. Does anyone know what's going on?

Global issue with flight booking and online check-in

Latest update: 07 Aug 2018 19:15 HKT (GMT+8)

Please note, customers are unable to make or manage flight bookings, on our website and through our Global Contact Centre, due to technical issues with our booking service provider. Online check-in is also affected – we recommend passengers to allow extra time to check in at the airport.

During this period, our service centres may therefore be unusually busy. Please note a long waiting time should be expected.

We are working urgently with our provider to restore our services as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience.

And they would not waive any phone booking fees because of the technical incapabilities

I got this error message on a redemption booking. Everything was fine until after I auto-populated the passenger's details field. Then, I got the error message.

Went back to my membership profile and noted that I had not updated the passport details with my new passport; the old one had expired, and the "expiry" had not been filled in with a "year". Made sure all details on my profile were updated and correct, and then went back to do the redemption booking again. Voila!

I got an error while booking an award ticket over the weekend as well. I called them up and they booked it over the phone and waived the phone booking fees.
