Thanks!
Yes, per clause 3 of http://www.bankcomm.com.hk/mediafile...eng.pdf#page=2 "Cardholder can earn HK$20 cash rebate or 5,000 bonus points for the first-time successful application of AAVS via
our credit card (based on each Octopus serial number)." Confirmed by milesbuzz's reward (2 cards, 2 5,000 pt rewards).

$500 - yes. My first $500 recharge was made on 9 Nov, posted on 10 Nov. 500 points posted yesterday, 500 today.

Time published an article about 'The Best Low-Interest and Airline Miles Credit Cards' it's for US based FTers but it's still interesting to read.

Earn rate - DBS Black ($6/mile) > SPG Amex ($6.24/mile) http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/catha...-month.html#13

But I don't think we've any card with a $4,900 (US$625) welcome gift since the Amex Plat Cred $1 for 1 mile offer last year...

(revised) Anyone get a targeted Citibank Premiermiles welcome offer recently? Their last public welcome offer expired on 15 Nov.

BEA 4X Overseas spending targeted offer to 14 Feb 12

http://www.scribd.com/doc/72912409/B...Targeted-Offer

$2/mile, better than SCB. Hmmm I'll take this instead of Fubon when I head off overseas tomorrow.

I take that back. I've just had a Shangri-La dining spending excluded from 5X. But I had a 20% discount there (5% more than others) so I'm happy to give up 5x.

I remember reading some place that autopay transactions don't earn DBS$ i.e. Asia Miles on DBS (Black) Credit Cards. Is that true or not? In particular, do I earn DBS$ for the autopay transactions of my cellphone bill (Hutchison 3)?

Bill payment to 3HK via DBS website: No DB$

Autopay payment to 3HK via (signed) Direct Debit Authority): Yes, miles earned for $6 payment each ($250 spend at 3HK = 2 DB$. 48 DB$ = 1,000 miles).

As of now until Dec 31st, 2011 Bankcomm rate of AM is $8 per 1AM. Does anyone know what the rate will be like after Dec 31st and will there be a possible extension?

Not a chance http://www.bankcomm.com.hk/en/creditcard/cupcard.html . Already lists 12 pts per mile for redemptions on or after 1 January 2012.

Finally - Asia Miles for 2011 taxes!!!

http://www.hongkongcard.com/forum/fo...ow.php?id=6159
http://www.shacombank.com.hk/bankscb...11_leaflet.pdf

$5,000 tax payments = 1,000 pts = 125 miles

Other tax offers:
Shacom offers $5 cash rebate in lieu of 125 miles
Bankcomm offers $5 for $5,000 as well
CCB offers $100 Wellcome coupons for $3,000 http://www.hongkongcard.com/forum/fo...hp?id=6181&p=1
Dah Sing continues to offer $100 for $10,000 tax payments per month to December statement date (not 31 December http://www.hongkongcard.com/forum/fo...hp?id=6150&p=3)

You can't compare tax payments with anything else...nobody else (AFAIK) awards miles for tax payments!

You have to compare apples with apples. If you wish to compare absolute earn rates, Moneyback's $10/mile doesn't beat your AY earn rate of $0.47/mile http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/catha...iamond.html#10 .
