agent

I've been dealing with Cathay agents through WhatsApp, X, and phone calls for the past three days, and it's been exhausting. Every time I speak to someone, I have to repeat everything at least five times. It feels like something is off—they can't seem to confirm my ticket, and every agent gives me a different answer. Despite checking my itinerary multiple times, they keep miscalculating the mileage.

Is this the usual forum experience? Any way to fix this? I'm getting really tired of the back-and-forth.

This is my routing
FRA- HKG (transfer)-Singapore open jaw
DPS - HKG - stop over
HKG to ORD - open jaw
IAD to LHR - stop over
LHR to NYC - stop over
NYC to HKG transfer
HKG to HND - stop over
NRT to FRA- final
They are asking for 280000 which is over 35k miles (while this is 29000 miles) - i still agree to pay but they keep coming and saying different things
Any suggestions

Your post isn't very clear. Are you trying to do a redemption or a paid? If redemption, I am 99% sure you can't do this on one ticket and they are slicing and dicing it up into separate tickets in different ways which is why you are getting different answers. Also, some of these are going to partner flights and I doubt there is inventory on all of them. Your best bet is to book them as one-ways.

I believe this is a legal itinerary for oneworld multi-carrier award that can be issued using Asia Miles. Except the total distance is about 40000 miles indeed, so they are right to charge you 280000AM for a U class redemption. I think you got the 29000 miles wrong.

I will definitely call to get it booked and priced in one go.

Deduct SIN-DPS 1031mi, ORD-IAD 587mi, and HND-NRT 37mi from the results above and you are still at around 40000mi.

Thanks

This is helpful. I did the calculation, and you are right. This is 40000 miles so i am ok . They messed it up that why they are not releasing the ticket. One of the agents booked in PE and they are not confirming because PE is not allowed in one world multi carrier ticket. I agreed to take economy but they are still not releasing the ticket. Keep telling me its not possible and i can't have one downgraded segment.

Why can't thread titles be more informative of the actual content?

For sure a problem at CX. Been there many times. Repeating everything in a loop mode. Only to find that on the next communication they asking for all the details again. Seems there is no one or nothing that keeps track of the previous conversations.

To top it all off, you have around 60sec window to get stuff communicated in their chat channels, otherwise you get logged off and have to do it all again. One reason I stopped flying CX where possible.

I didn’t think you could travel through the same airport more than twice?

I *think* the new rule is that you cannot have stopover at the same airport more than once, but transits are ok?

I agree completely . I am not sure what's wrong with agents . I have to repeat everything 5 times and even when they make mistake I feel like I am hitting the wall. Every time it takes more then 1 hour to get any answer. everything what I suggest it can't be done and once I explained they understand ln like 5 times.

Very poor service ( they are nice but seems like there is some disconnect . I wish sometime I should be calling diamond line.
