Hi all, I am currently waitlisting on 2 business class seats from Kaohsiung to Barcelona on 21st Dec and return from Madrid on 31st Dec. Both flights have availability as below.

KHH - HKG J9 C9 D9 I9 U P0 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9V9 G0 S9 N9 Q9 O0 X0
HKG - BCN J9 C9 D9 I9 U P0 W9 R9 E2 T0 Y9 B9H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 G9 S9 N9 Q8 O9 X0

Does anyone know if Spain will be a heavy loaded route during that period? It's still 2 months away but I am wondering if CX will release the revenue seats if the flights are as empty as shown.

Does anyone know if Spain will be a heavy loaded route during that period? It's still 2 months away but I am wondering if CX will release the revenue seats if the flights are as empty as shown.
While I am unsure whether the flights to/from Spain will be heavily loaded, that period is traditionally a heavily traveled period. Fares tend to be rather high which is an indicator that CX revenue management feels they can sell tickets. It would not surprise me that award space is restricted, hence stuck on the waitlist. Unfortunately, it's way too early to predict whether award space on any of those individual flights will become available. It might not become clear until last minute. If you're not willing to take that risk, then I would make alternative plans.

Just a final update...

I checked again after the waitlisting deadline passed. No redemption seat was available on 1/Oct CX520. So I cancelled my revenue ticket (I redeemed seats with ANA anyway). After cancelled my revenue ticket, I checked redemption seats again and found that there were TWO redemption seats on 1/Oct CX520, though Business Choice, not Standard ��

Best way is just to turn up and go show with Asia miles. Prior to the revolution in HK, I never ever bothered to book just arrive at HKIA, now flights will be dead easy.

Go show.. it’s easy

How does go show work? You turn up and ask for redemption? Will it be offered in business or first standard, or only choice? Does it happen only at HKIA or any outpost airport as well?

I booked a business class seat with Asia Miles, but I really want to fly in First Class but it was "waitlist" I did not wanna take a chance so I booked the business one, now how do i get on the first class waitlist? I have to book another flight in first? I dont have enough miles to waitlist (70%), I would have enough if i didnt book business but didnt want to take the chance. Cheers!

Thanks! Just did and they said that you can be put on the waitlist for First class for 70% of the cost, in my case 80k for 2, which is 56k, since i already spent 50k for business i only need to have 6k in my account. However if the flight comes up you have to pay the rest of the 24,000 miles within a day or two. I was told its up to the agent for how long they can hold it. So really i would need to have 30k in the account to be safe. If i dont get business however then i got 30k sitting in Asia Miles that i might not use for awhile. Plus $100usd per person change fee.
