Noob question -- do most people use PPS to pay off credit card bills?

I paid my SCB card bill via Citibank internet banking using SCB Credit Cards as the merchant (from the list) and the credit card number as a reference -- will this work?

I just autopay from my bank account. Is there any benefit to going through all the clunkiness of PPS?

No idea -- I haven't used it but from a couple of Google searches I understand it is widely used across HK. If I can just pay directly from my bank account (without any fees) that's of course preferred.

Could anyone confirm if using your SCB credit card number as bill payment reference will work?

once set up, PPS is super efficient and quick.

I've used it to settle credit card bills, esp new ones, because in oh so efficient HK, it can take up to 2 months to get autopay set up.

Flyformiles did a pretty comprehensive summary:

I can vouch for his DBS findings. I'm very certain he's right about HSBC and Citi as well.

Dah Sing should also be a yes http://forum.hongkongcard.com/forumS.../21048?page=37 #365

Question is now whether Payme will count for any promo. The one getting asked the most is Red Hot Winter Everywhere, which is a total crapshoot with half the CS saying it is eligible and half will not.

I'm not trying my non-HKD cards. You can try.

You need to take a photo of your HKID inside the app and and it needs to be successfully OCRed by Payme.

Google Translate is crapping out a bit for the HSBC one, anyone provide a better translation?

"HSBC counts for $25/mile (he means AM) before 1 April. Counts for Red Hot Winter Everywhere"

Someone told me the former is true but I'm getting conflicting information for the latter.

Trying to squeeze a bit more overseas spend into the last phase of the SCB promo. Can anyone confirm if expedia.com.hk hotel bookings count as overseas? Prices seem to be quoted in HKD but fine print says transaction is processed in Netherlands (?)

Otherwise, I can try another travel site. As long as they charge the full amount now for a stay in March (promo is over).

thanks~

I have CITI PM, HSBC Advance Platinum and BEA WF. Which are the best Promo's for tax payment?

HSBC have this 2% rebate (I cant remember what by personal spending limit was but I think around 15k). Do I get a 2% rebate on everything over 15k up to a maximum of 800 RC?

CITI have 300 HKD in shopping vouchers but when I registered I'm unsure if it was successful and within the first 10,000 applications. It just said "Submitted".

BEA looks like their promos ended in December.
