Thanks. I'm canceling my SCB card that I have had for 5-6 years (they gave me without asking when I got a mortgage with them) so I can apply for the AM card in 6 months.

For Citibank, I think going for the Rewards card is better if for churning purpose.

Fubon welcome T&C is here http://www.fubonbank.com.hk/web/html...lcome00_e.html

Is this the Visa Infinite card? It comes with free Priority Pass, so it may be worth keeping. Also, I believe you get bonus 360 reward points based on your mortgage amount if you use the card once a month...IIRC

It seems like it would be wise to proactively close cards that are rarely used. But would still need to wait 12 months (after cancellation) to re-apply for any welcome offers.

Is there any exception to this or do most cards have this in the T&Cs?

Some have 6 (e.g. Fubon, SCB) but 12 is the norm.

I thought the CX RSVP code only works on those invited. So anyone with the code can do this.

Anyone know when the "Welcome Miles" will post for the Citi PremierMiles welcome offer?

Per HK$1
Local Spending 6.5 Welcome Points 1.5 Basic Points
Overseas Spending 5 Welcome Points 3 Basic Points

How hard is it to get fee waivers out of banks like Bocomm, Fubon, and/or can we cancel after the bonus points credit without penalty?

Annual fee: routinely given.

You can't get around redemption fees tho. Bankcomm is $100 every five years. Fubon is $250 every year (because points expire every year with one month's grace for orphans).

[to 30 Nov 16] Citi Premiermiles: $1.5/mile to $36,923 for first two months after approval https://www.citibank.com.hk/english/...dc-master.html
Is the $36,923 limit the same regardless of local or overseas spend?

If overseas, your end earn rate is the same ($1.5/mile, or 8 points per $1 spent).

But because the "basic earn rate" is 3 points per $1 spent overseas, your upper limit is increased from 240,000/(8-1.5)=$36,923 to 240,000/(8-3)=$48,000

Thank you! Do you know how I can find out my "approval date" as the offer is only available within two months of that?
